Description Teachers' Unions are terrified of competition. Always have been. Always will be.

Our future is prisoner to failed liberal thinking until civil servant unions are broken all across the country.

Each state should be an experiment in what works best. Intentions mean little. Results matter.

My mother is a school teacher you jack ass. She bust her ass of every day making sure her students get a good education and in return she gets nothing back but bad pay, bad benefits, and morons like you who know nothing about the education system but go around claiming that teachers are lazy and it is their fault thatΒ their kids are fat and lazy. So how about you shut your mouth and go back to the first grade because clearly you where unable too finish it the first time around.

Parents are not turned away when they go for the school, nor does it change the fact that teachers are under paid and under appreciated by dicks like you.

I think you might like this editorial. [link]

I kind of think he is kidding but sadly he gives some statistics and arguments that actually make it seem like a viable option. It would keep class sizes small, keep good teachers in business (for more than they get now) and cut out a lot of nonsense. The only problem I forsee with this solution is that some parents would take the money and run and not bother to educate their kids so you would have to have some kind of agency to make sure that didn't happen, and, well ... we all know how efficient government agencies are.

And you've got to love the teacher's union in California that had all home schooling and alternative education banned unless you happened to be a teacher doing the teaching of your kids.

All upon the guise of altruism and "wanting the best for California's students"! What they wanted was to dodge the bullet that home schoolers consistently out preform public schoolers hands down and they didn't want to loose another dollar that would keep them from preaching their socialist crap agendas!

Conservatoons In reply to neophot [2010-12-11 19:19:33 +0000 UTC]

It is much the same in OR. The Union does all it can to kill homeschooling and Charter schools.

neophot In reply to Conservatoons [2010-12-11 21:41:05 +0000 UTC]

In my opinion, the actions of unions and other special interest groups attempting to eliminate other groups by way of "legal manipulation" should in itself be illegal.

Why should the lives of people minding their own damn business be an issue for these fuckwits? It's not like home schoolers don't pay their school taxes like everyone else.
In fact, home schoolers do pay their taxes and get NOTHING in return except greif from a dysfunctional and failed establishment.

It reminds me of fundamentalists that protest movies, books,TV shows and the like because the aforementioned don't fit into their particular version of reality.

If you don't like it...DON"T WATCH IT!!! Simple concept for seemingly simple minds...apparently it is too simple...or they are!

Home schoolers as a national interest need to organize and fight for their sovereign right to do as they please.

Oh, they actually went through with that? I was home schooled and I heard about that awhile ago, but I didn't think they actually went through with it. That's just sick. There are people out that actually want to be parents and get the best for their kids, yet they have the state telling them they can't do that. They're basically saying, "You can't be a parent because we've decided you're not good enough at it." Nevermind the kids that leave highschool and barely read or in general do not how to act because they can't spend time with their real teachers.

neophot In reply to Missvirginia [2010-12-09 17:45:06 +0000 UTC]

I hear you!

At last I heard, it went through. Perhaps it was overturned, which is possible as it has been a while since the original ruling.

The simple of it is, the talking heads from local to national gov't. don't want people who can think for themselves, i.e. people not caught up in the grist mill of the social mind prisons.
