Description ...catches the worm

Well, this is a photo we took, just to document events on our time together in April and it actually turned out rather nice and marti suggested I submit it.

The story behind it:

This was the morning after I arrived, so I was extremely jetlagged and we were both wide awake at around 7am (when I wake, Marti mysteriously wakes all by herself...). We decided on the spur of the moment that we'd go and watch the sunrise, so we crawled out of bed and threw on a few clothes (I almost didn't bother changing from my pyjamas, but I'm so glad I did now).

Marti forgot where the sun rose, so we ended up going in a few circles, then we decided to watch it from a fishing pier, only we missed the exit and ended up going over a toll bridge, only, we didn't have any money, because we didn't plan on needing it. We were issued a penalty notice for not being able to pay the toll, but told we could pay on the way back if we liked. Fortunately Marti had her bank card on her, so we went in search of an ATM so that we could pay the toll (and the one on the way back to get back to the pier we were heading towards in the first place). By this time the sun was already rising over the Bay, so we were desparately trying to find an ATM so we can get on with watching the sunrise.

We come to a fork in the road, and with the sun blinding us, basically, we go the wrong way. We drive for about 10 miles before finding an Albertson's, getting some croissants with cashback and heading back to pay the tolls and watch the sunrise from the pier. We got there in the end, after $7, about one hour's driving and 30 miles. Still, I think you'll agree it was worth it

Well...thank you EVER so much for spilling the stupid story about me I am such a ditz sometimes

This photo is so beautiful. Its not the camera...its the operator. TRULY. I couldn't have taken that shot. You just see things I don't. Beauty that is not there for others. Guess that is why you are marrying me eh

This is amazing. I LOVE it. Of course I do. Its fabulous

Haha, well I didn't feel right leaving it in the closet. It was meant to be heard by the world We both mucked up that morning, let's not forget who decided which way to go at the fork in the road *sheepishly raises hand*

Marti, the beauty was there for all to see, just as it is with you. I've seen the pictures you've taken of sunsets, such as the one you took with Jenna. it was gorgeous and you did an awesome job. I'm a make a photographer out of you yet, you've got the skills, you just need to take some actual photos now

I love it for what it means to us. It looks really pretty and really reminds me of the time I spent with you. It just sums it up perfectly.

I love you and thanks for the sweetpea. I love you!!

This is really neat, Dave... because initially looking at this, it looks like one of those sights where one usually just steps out onto their back porches and sits with a cup of tea & a newspaper while the sun rises into the sky but it was obviously so different for you both that morning! I had a good laugh with the story, so thank you for sharing - it outrageous how something so simple can become so complex

On a note with the image, there isn't a lot I'm going to tell you because there really are some scenes witnessed best in silence The orange hue through the frame is gorgeous... from the reflections off the water, to the actual birds dancing in it - an image of perfection.

Hahah yeah, we didn't exactly roll out of bed onto our porch. No, it was a little more comple than that. You're welcome for the story. I'm glad it wasn't just wasted on the two of us That would have been a shame

Well yeah, I think probably the best thing to say about the image is it was an awesome accident. (and Florida just happens to have gorgeous sunrises and sunsets)

Thanks for your ever-kind words Sean. Always appreciated
