Description After engineering works hampered my earlier attempts to go to either Oxford or Winchester, I ended up in Chichester, and the smaller village of Old Bosham. I'm so glad it turned out this way.

This was taken in Old Bosham, by Chichester Harbour. Then these swans just swam up this little channel and formed what you see.

My good friend =martisunshine was inspired by this piece, and was compelled to write a poem. Below is an excerpt:

The sunset hit in such a way
casting a reflection on the sand
reds, and oranges, deep purples
caught out of the corner of my eye
with just a hint of green
you held my hand
as we walked along...
for the first time, feeling peace
filling a hole deep within me
I felt a sense of comfort in your presence
and a sense of worth from the way you smiled

I love this so much...I actually was inspired to write. I will send you the poem as soon as its edited. But I love this. The angle, how you did it Vertical rather than just horizontal, the birds, everything. I just love the swans, then the sand, the water, the position and brightness of the sun. It is perfect. Just awesome.

Maybe...we'll see. It is short, and I am very displeased with it at the moment. So, I must have 3 or so of my pals check it out, then edit it...and then maybe. Depends...do I get another

Great picture to look at, it captures a great day out drawing to a close and reflecting on happy times. I love the reflection in the sand and the swans swimming up the little stream of water. The only thing that puzzles me is the reflection of the sun is quite sharp and defined yet the sun itself is very hazy? I would like this picture with a more defined sun. Great composition here, it really leads you up the picture nicely.

Well the trouble here is the choice of camera. Digi compacts have a bit of a hard time shooting directly into the sun, they just can't cope with it most of the time. Mine has coped pretty well here, but these are the places they faulter

awwwwwww.... its sooooo puuuurrrrtttyyyyyyy... im a total sucker for sunsets... but i think you might know that already... anyway..
i love the reflection of the sun on the water, and how it continues down along the wet sand or whatever it is.. leading lines are good
and the swans add a nice touch to it.. and i do enjoy the contrast between the horizontal and vertical lines.. good job!

Fantastic capture, I was quite torn today that I didn't have access to my own camera - the sunset alone the Sussex coast was fantastic and I'd have loved to be able to capture it myself.

You did an excellent job yourself!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

bigdavec In reply to Kalfireth [2004-11-13 21:24:08 +0000 UTC]

Damn, that must've been a bugger, so annoying when you can see a brilliant picture forming, and you have to pass it up, due to lack of equipment.

Thanks very much for your kind words.
