Out of the two similar shots, compositionally speaking, I prefer this one.

This shot uses repetition to lead the eye across the frame. Your crop of the two huts on the ends almost makes it look like it could line up with the opposite side which also makes it pleasing to look at.

Your really taking advantage of the colour of the scene as well. The vibrant reds and amazing blues add a serene quality to this scene.
Shooting wide also included alot of the gorgeous and moody sky. Overall its a great shot. My .02$

such lovely colors! i can't decided between this one and the other beach one i love the simplicity, solid lines, and good shapes of this one. I like the Depth of field and spacing on the other one.
