Appearance: Bo is probably best described as scruffy. He stands at 5'8", but is constantly slouching and may appear shorter. He rarely wears anything but old, ugly sweaters and though he sometimes remembers to shower, his hair is not likely to cooperate. His face has a perpetually scowl and dark circles under his eyes from his inconsistent sleep patterns. Generally he looks unhealthy, tired, and thoroughly unimpressed with his surroundings.
Height: 5'08" as a human and 1'06" as a Poochyena.
Personals
Personality: Bo is a grump. There's really no other way to put it. He runs his mouth longer and more often than he should, often to the point of getting a fist in his face. Not that he minds--on the contrary, he's fairly sure it was deserved. There has always been a hint of self-loathing in his demeanor that he justifies by making everyone around him equally as miserable until his suspicions are confirmed. He has very little patience for people he doesn't consider friends and is likely to snap if they don't leave him alone in the first place. He will not start a conversation, he will wait for you to start one and then insult you until you leave him alone.
However, Bo is not likely to fight beyond words. He often gets himself in over his head and runs away rather than facing the problems he has created. When given the choice of fight or flight, he will always choose the latter.
Bo tends to live in the moment. While he can get very excited and invested in something, he is not likely to think about the long-term consequences of his actions or how they might affect others.
If you somehow manage to become friends with this irritable loser, he will defend you to the best of his ability. He is oblivious to appropriate social behavior and other people’s needs because he is usually very focused on his own. That said, when he does choose pay attention to someone else, they will have his complete undivided attention. This generally only happens with people he cares very deeply about.
Bo is extremely emotional, and often doesn’t handle it well. He is prone to having very intense feelings, very strong opinions, and very negative reactions when he feels that he has been wronged/criticized. This shows up most often as anger (discussed below), but it’s important to understand that this is the easiest emotion for him to outwardly express. However, his other emotions are still very much an active part of his personality and are easily hurt, but he generally internalizes them.
History: Bo was born the runt of a litter of 5 purebred Poochyena pups in Lavender town. The family that owned his parents was extremely well-off and kept Mightyena as house pets and status symbols and planned to hand off the pups to their children. All of them, that is, except for the runt. There was no tolerance for weakness in the breeding line and Bo was tossed into the stream behind the estate and promptly forgotten. The pup would have drowned if not for a branch floating along beside him. As it was, he clung to the branch until it caught on an outcropping of rocks and dragged himself to shore. He still has a terrible fear was large bodies of water to this day.
The pooch spent much of the rest of his early life wandering on his own by Route 7. He didn't bother trying to make friends. In fact, he would actively steal from other pokémon and passing trainers where he could get away with it. He managed this way for quite some time until he happened to steal from a rather strict trainer and was caught in the act. The trainer captured the pup, intent on making Bo pay back what he had stolen. For the next several years, Bo was trained by less than humane means--he was ganged up on by the trainers other pokémon for practice, underfed, and kept for long amounts of time in his pokeball as punishment. It was clear that the trainer had no affection towards the pup in the slightest and often used him as an outlet for his anger. Despite the repurcussions, Bo ran away time and time again only to be brought back to the trainer and locked away in his pokéball for weeks at a time.
He never managed to succeed until his trainer had traveled abroad to Kalos for a tournament. The pup made a break for it as soon as he was let out of pokéball, slipping into the crowded streets of Lumiose City and hiding in a dumpster until he was sure his trainer must have given up looking. From that time on, Bo was content to remain on his own, picking scraps out of the back alley and sleeping between trash bags. He had heard whispers about dittechs from pokemon around the city and set his mind on finding one. He had no luck. Still, Bo would still snatch little trinkets from trainers and bury them just outside the city in the hopes that he might find something interesting enough for someone to want to sell him one of these devices.
It was one such night that he met Vi when she dug up his latest acquired trinket and promptly ate it right in front of his face. The two formed a rocky friendship, Bo watching over Vi while she slept in the day and Vi (supposedly) returning the favor for Bo at night. When Vi sniffed out a discarded Dittech and kept it for herself, Bo was nearly beside himself with jealously. Reluctantly, he allowed Vi to pose as his trainer so they were able to move around the city more easily. It was several more months before Vi was able to properly find her way into the pokéhuman community and pester Reus for another dittech for her fluffy little friend.
Bo took surprisingly well to the change. He dug up his stash of trinkets and pawned them off to get enough for a dingy little apartment, though he quickly realized the savings wouldn't last long and reluctantly took a job as a barista at a Sawsbucks chain in the city. He lived there with his roommate Alex (and Vi when she feels like dropping in).

Currently, Bo has taken over the attic of Reus' house and can occasionally be found at Otis' studio.
Relationships:
Vi -- His best friend. She annoys the hell out of him, but if he were in trouble, she’s the first person he would call. He knows that no matter how bad he fucks up, she’ll come and bail him out.
Reus/Sir -- His adoptive father. He admires Reus like no other. He’d do just about anything for him.
Eilam -- Sir’s mate. Bo strongly dislikes Eilam and the patronizing attitude he has, but if he makes Sir happy he’ll try and suck it up and deal with him. He might just want a tiny bit of approval from him. Maybe.
Otis -- His boyfriend. Bo is no longer confused by his infatuation with Otis--it's second nature. While the extent of his affection is still slightly daunting, he loves Otis. He can even say it out loud.
Sunny -- An annoyance. He’ll put up with him for Otis’ sake more than Sunny’s. Most of his dislike stems from realizing how similar they are.
Cari -- His sort of adoptive sister. Bo actually likes Cari even though she can be overbearing at times and will bother him when all he really wants to do is mope around by his lonesome. She's a form of protection he can count on, and a nice pillow.
Fern -- One of the few positive influences in the household. Bo genuinely respects Fern and regards her as somewhere between a friend and an aunt.
Orin -- Tiny Leaf. Bo's baby cousin of sorts. Bo does his best to censor himself around the little guy and doesn't mind keeping an eye on his for Fern, even if he says otherwise.
Eris -- Cousin. Annoyance. Thing. She's annoying as all hell and can follow through on her threats to pummel him, but Bo doesn't let that bother him. Much.
Soot -- A pup that followed Bo home and into his stupid mushy heart. He loves the kid like a much younger sister.
Extras:
- He eats an obscene amount of junk food, burgers especially.
- He is not neat. His room is a disaster area.
- If he happens to be in his pokemon form when Vi is around, she will dress him in puppy sweaters. This is not pleasant.
- He swears quite a bit. Especially when angry, which is often.
- He is a very restless sleeper and often doesn't manage to get to sleep until very late at night.
- He has a crippling fear of large bodies of water and refuses to learn to swim.
- He has learned to make decent coffee for his job, and is slowly learning to cook more than microwave popcorn.

The schreeches were still echoing off the city buildings as Iagan scrambled around the corner, one hand pressing his hat flat against his hair and the other clutching at the old lady's wallet. He snickered, his feet skipping over the uneven pavement, so very pleased with himself that he didn't notice the officer until his nose was all pressed up against the badge.
The boy blinked in surprise. Oh. Oh, an officer of the law, what an entirely unexpected privilege this was. He quietly slipped the wallet into his back pocket and tipped his hat in the politest of fashions before continuing to amble on his merry way. Or he would have, if someone hadn't been hollering their head off back 'round the corner.
"Whoopsie." He offered the officer a grin that wasn't the slighest bit apologetic and took off down the street once again, hopping over cafe tables and giggling all the way. Silly slowpokes--they couldn't catch him if they tried
