Appearance: Tybalt is a bitter old bird and rather looks the part. His hair is a shot manageable undercut, plumage faded considerably due to stress and one with a keen eye could pick out premature grey hair around his temples. The scruff on his jaw is poorly maintained. If he's got nothing else going for him, at the very least he's got fantastic eyelashes. He favors a dull threadbare brown coat and a pale scarf to keep warm at night. He has a washed out appearance; he's the kind of stranger your eyes pass over when they scan a room. He doesn't take much stock in style, he wears what he can get his hands on and wears it until it's worn right off. He's got a scar on the left side of his face from his jaw through his lips, right up to his nose. He thinks it rather unsightly, but doesn't care quite enough to do anything about it. Below the collar he's got scar tissue everywhere, though it's most prominent on his shoulders and upper arms; years of fighting for team flare have taken their toll. As faded as he is, his eyes are sharp as ever and are a piercing brown. He's got a strong nose and jaw, and has light creases in his face from frowning so much. But he's got lines from laughter around his eyes as well, proof that he does indeed know how to be happy. His face is covered in a sparse splattering of freckles, though they disappear almost entirely in the winter. He's taller (6' 2") and broader than most people assume, though he's thinned considerably from lack of consistent meals. His torso is rather sunken and he keeps his arms close to his body. Tybalt was caught as a humble pidgey. His trainer was a novice from a very wealthy family whose parents had bought him a collection of poke balls for a recent birthday. Through lots of hard work and training Tybalt evolved and they celebrated by wining a gym match and dining at the most luxurious restaurant his trainer's money could buy. They grew stronger together, day in and say out training to be as skilled as possible. Tybalt and his trainer lived comfortably for years in his parents lovely house, every so often leaving to participate in tournaments and competitions, wining a few, losing a few. Who ever said having pokémon meant you were obligated to go on some grand adventure, after all.

One day his trainer was approached by a member of Team Flare and, being the idealist that he was, fell for their world saving rhetoric.

With Flare, Tybalt and his trainer grew stronger still. Tybalt, now a pidgeot, followed his trainer always, his loyalty never wavering, though the stress of such constant brutal battles were beginning to take their toll. His wings had been broken so many times he was virtually flightless, having to compensate during battle with speed and sheer strength.

Eventually though, they were confronted about their frequent failures and Tybalt's trainer snatched up his pokemon, dumped them off at the nearest pokemon center, and left.

Tybalt was eventually adopted by an elderly couple who had the time to care for him. Tybalt had a good home with them in the years following. They were mellow and kind and the old woman loved to make café au lait and beignets for breakfast on Sunday mornings. She always let him have some. They spoke often about how they didn't see much point in violence and would make sad remarks about how misguided Team Flare was. Then they would argue about crochet patterns and computer games and whether or not the weather man's forecast was accurate (it wasn't.)

It was in the attic that Tybalt discovered the Dittech. It had been thrown into a box of knick-knacks the old man had collected through some form or another. He couldn't suss out what it's function was, so he threw it up in the attic in case he ever needed it for spare parts. Tybalt picked it out by accident, activating it completely unaware of it's purpose. It took some great doing to convince himself to take the thing and leave, but after a week of mulling it over he took it and left for Lumiose.

Beth was kind enough to offer him a place to stay and got him off the streets. He respects her professionalism and stubbornness but Tybalt is often unsure of where exactly he stands with her. Still, he considers he a good friend and he holds her in high regard.

Stella, Robin, Zoti - street trio
In his years living on the streets of Lumiose Tybalt encountered this rambunctious trio of homeless children. He got attached, as he does, and he cares for them greatly. He tends to want to be overprotective of them but doesn't want to overstep any boundaries, so he often struggles with how involved he should be.

Ryhs - He froze their door off the hinges once
Tybalt doesn't really know what to make of Rhys. Their first interaction involved Rhys insisting Beth was going to try to eat him. The dino perplexes him.

Pam - Friendly acquaintance
Though he hasn't had much of a chance to get to know her, He knows that Pam is wise beyond her years. She extended a hand of kindness to him at a homeless shelter in Laverre, and that is something Tybalt wont readily forget.

Arwen - Friendly acquaintance.
Extremely friendly, and a friend of Beth's? Tybalt isn't sure, but she's a sweet lady and cooks a good meal. He and Beth slept over at her house once. He's now frighteningly aware of the concept of sleepovers and how little sleeping they actually entail.

Robin (turtle) - Friendly acquaintance
She is very nice, tall, and also a walking space heater. She gave him a sandwich once.

He miscounted a stitch somewhere and now the whole pattern was thrown off.

He looked up from what was quickly becoming a headache when the bell above the door signaled a new arrival - unusual at this time of night. He was very much the type who preferred to loiter with company, and appreciated this strangers timing. She sat in a booth next to his table and he waited politely for her to place her order before he nodded in greeting.
“ ‘Evening.” he said, for a good evening it was to stay indoors and spend time with a friendly stranger. He would take that over a lonely winter night in the cold any day.
