Description Yoko Ritona.

Far and away my favorite off the bat. What? I'm a guy, and seeing a woman in a swimsuit top and cutoff shorty shorts swinging in on a rope and firing a massive gun at an even more massive mech and able to operate her rifle fully despite a complicated scope and bolt action firing mechanism *breath* is just attractive.

Yoko is also one of the stronger female characters, the kind who isn't defined by her clothing or anything. She's weak when she needs to be and strong the rest of the time.

It makes me think. TTGL is basically a big play on character archetypes, but they do it amazingly well. Everyone is so well placed in their role (Nia the moeblob, Yoko the mildly tsundere, Kamina the loud manly man, Simon the underdog, etc.) that you don't get tired of them.

I love TTGL. Always will. Enjoy.

Those of us who followed Yoko's adventures from the outset, 00000000000000000, knew her surname to be Ritona. Much later, when Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann was released in its North American English-language version, the new distributor touted her surname as Littner. Most English-language Web sites eventually caved in to that almighty corporate mentality and began insisting Yoko's surname had to be Littner henceforth, even though it's a crap name when compared to the original Ritona. She's my all-time favorite anime/games/manga character and she'll always be Yoko Ritona to me.

I really like your stamp, by the way! Keep up the good work.

I prefer Ritona as well, though Littner does seem to match the linguistics. As a display of true fandom I'll just change it all to Ritona.

Yay! I thank you for honoring Yoko this way, rather than kowtowing before that dopey distribution corporation which decided (after Yoko had already been amazingly popular for a year) to change her surname. What dunces those corporate types are, to change the name of a character who had already zoomed to the top of the popularity charts as Yoko Ritona!

But what puzzles me even more is the spineless lock-step obedience exhibited by Webmasters of anime/games/manga-related sites, those sites which are independent of Gainax and its distributors, in enforcing the corporate name-change dictate. I hadn't known, before than, how readily the anime/games/manga fan base would roll over on command. Well, some of us failed to comply with that particular edict.

Anyway, I perused your Favourites gallery — or, rather, its first 20 pages. You've good taste!

I had no clue it was such an issue. Huh.

And thanks, I actually haven't been using the favorites system on DA too much anymore. I probably should if people are actually going to look.
