Around the time Prototype was released I created two pieces of fan art combining Kirby and Alex Mercer. The reason behind this was because of a joke topic I had seen on GameFAQs asking who would win in a fight seeing as the two characters had very similar powers, though one was certainly more gruesome than the other.The first one showed Kirby dressed as Mercer with the Blade power active. He was on top of tall building about to be taken out by a military helicopter. The second drawing showed Kirby as the happy puffball we all know and love using Mercer's powers to simply have fun. With Prototype 2 having just been released, I naturally had to take on the crossover again.
This is Kirby dressed as Sgt. James Heller, the protagonist in Prototype 2. Originally I had planned on him having the Whipfist power going behind his back and over his shoulder but I couldn't get it to look quite right. Even though it looked different compared to Mercer's, I really didn't like using the Whipfist again.
So I decided to just draw Kirby as Heller and sometime later if I have time I'll add an actual scene with a Heller exclusive power, Pack Leader.

That idea crossed my mind a few times when I did the first two Kirby/Prototype crossover pieces but until this game I really didn't have a use for the infected. It makes the most sense though, it enhances the whole idea of a crossover drawing and is much easier to draw Waddle Dees than the Brawlers.
So yeah, whenever I do decide to move on with this project that's probably what I'll do. I really don't want to attempt to draw the infected as they appear in-game. It's hard enough to find decent screenshots of them let alone decent screenshots from multiple angles.

I believe the Prototype Wiki has concept art of the Infected you could use as references if you want to.

Probably. Though if I'm not specifically trying to draw the Infected from the games, it's not needed nearly as much. Some exposed flesh, maybe some exposed bone, large teeth/fangs, and maybe some random spikes coming from their back and limbs will make a Waddle Dee look enough like an Infected for the drawing.
