A very old pic of mine, originally drawn in 2001 if I recall correctly… but one which I recently fixed up in Photoshop, and here’s the result! ^_^ The original image which I had uploaded here was badly scanned, but this version has been rescanned and had its levels adjusted accordingly in Photoshop with enhanced light effects.With that out of the way, this image is portraying the Halcyon, which is a mythical bird said to live in the sea. The Halcyon heralds the arrival of clear waters and skies, so sailors are said to keep their eyes peeled for its presence!
This pic was hand drawn and inked, and coloured with Derwent Studio pencils. Finally, it was inspired by the tune “Halcyon” by Chicane. Enjoy this revamped version everyone!

but just to jog my memory: in lore, halcyon is the legendary bird of water, like how the phonix is the legendary bird of fire, right? correct me if im wrong

Still, I love the way this is drawn. You have an extraordinary talent for making your artwork pop while still maintaining a large amount of its overall grace. Well done.

Wow, this picture is just stunning! I love the dynamic feel that it has to it, as if the phoenix is "flowing" with the water. The contrast between the jaggedness of the feathers and the smoothness of the water is also very striking. I'm tempted to do this with a lot of your pictures but since this one just really stands out for some reason,
