This one looks raptorlike, the current version looks canine. Some elements I like about this one better, and some from the current Zara.

Current Zara reminds me of therapsids (prehistoric reptiles with mammal traits, like fur and wiskers. The bigger ones died out, but the little ones evolved into rodents.)

I like the underspikes--one can tell he's dangerous, but he looks so cute and confused that you have to help him. I wonder if he'd bite fingers?

Interesting...I prefer her as she is now, I think. Nice shading and colouring -- very light and simple, not too harsh on the eyes. I think she looks a bit too hefty for those back legs to be supporting all that weight on their own, though.
