My continued run of picture commissions continues....and not-too-surprisingly, Alice makes another appearance! ^^Yet another commission that I recently made to the awesomesauce Xenny.
Yeah, I don't particularly know why I'm obsessed with Alice's Adventures in Wonderland lately, but I do like the story in all its various forms through the years.
This particular red-headed, red-dress wearing version of Alice (as opposed to most versions who are blonde and wear blue, taking their cue from Disney), is from an anime serial version of Alice in Wonderland, called "Fushigi no Kuni no Alice" (the Japanese translation of AiW), which was made and aired throughout 1983 by Nippon Animation (in conjunction with a German firm).
It ran for 52 episodes in all, with Alice invariably going to Wonderland and solving a problem, and using that lesson to solve something in her real life.
Or am I confusing that plot with Disney's live-action "Adventures in Wonderland"?

It a shame, but it's also a real shame that the complete cartoon series isn't available in English. Some episodes I think exist with English language online, but the only DVD sets I could find are in the original Japanese or in Italian... :/

Apparently most of the versions released in western hemisphere got the German version of the music (Except Italy; which got the Cristina D'Avena treatment).
And also, the english version was originally going to be sung by Lady Lily, who also sang the German Version of the intro; However, it was not used and an unknown singer covered the english version instead.

I have it on DVD, but unfortunately for me I couldn't find a DVD version in English - it's only available to buy in either Japanese and/or Italian.
(The only language I studied at school was French, and I wasn't even any good at it 
Someday, I'd love to see an English-language version of it somewhere that I can enjoy fully. If you ever find one - let me know!

I don't think the whole series is on Youtube...as I recall, only the first half of the series was even dubbed into English.

surprisingly enough, no, for the longest time i thought that as well, it seems that the first half is all that made it too the states but all 52 episodes were dubbed in english

Yes, it is. Alice is always shown in pretty much the exact same dress in all interpretations, but it's most often blue; red is sometimes used, and yellow turns up once or twice.

This Youtube member (Misstoffeeapple) apparently has a complete recording of Sarah Sutton's Alice, but only put the first couple of minutes of it on Youtube (due to lack of viewers who were interested I'm guessing). I tried contacting her, but she's not been active on that account for well over 6 months now.
On an unrelated Who note, I should be receiving the print of my Zoe and Nyssa painting back next week, signed by Misses Padbury and Sutton.

If you do get a hold of her and get a copy (which is what I'm assuming you'd do) maybe I could get one from you. I don't suppose you have the means too transfer VHS to DVD?

This is the painting I've already posted of Zoe and Nyssa, I asked my sister to get an A4 print of it signed. (And also to get an A4 print of Amelia and Amy signed at the same time).
Yeah, I've tried to contact her, but she's not responding on Youtube, and I can't find any other contact details for her outside of that. I do indeed have the means to record VHS to DVD, actually, so that would be no problem.
Hmm, I was just thinking - perhaps you could try writing to Ms Sutton's agent if you could find an address, and ask as a HUGE fan of hers if they might know of a way to acquire a copy of the production?

Back in the old days, yes, but not today anymore due to censorship laws. The only modern ones still provide us those stuff is mostly anime from Japan and the only one I know so far again is Code Lyoko.
