Description Image Description:
This is shot the same time as Dawn Over Paradox but this was not as successful so has not been posted until now. The visual micro landscape is again the goal, and for the same reasons. Again I fail to bring real impact through it...

Very beautiful I can see the landscape: a dark mountain with trees under snow and grey sky with snow clouds (if I'm correct)

Snow crystals have always fascinated me. The formations and the little landscapes they make. This is a perfect example.

I think this is quite a marvelous success with the micro landscape work

For almost a second I thought this was a hillside, grazed with frozen trees.

The composition first attracted my attention, that lovely organic horizontal line.
The icicles, although obvious make me think of a huge pine forest covered in snow on the side of a hill (thats the black bit).
The thing that I find distracting is the hole in the ice on the upper left. It destroys the illusion or landscape that my mind wants to see. Brings me back from the abstract to the real.
The image strongly reminds me of those Japanese pictures or paintings of pine forests.
Very nice, just the same.

My idea for the hole was that it would describe the circumference of the sun behind the hill. As the other was 'dawn over' this was to be 'dusk over'. But I believe, as you pointed out, the hole does not serve it's indented purpose and that is a major reason the piece does not work the way I hoped it would

Thank you for the feedback very much

Clever idea just the same, don't be so hard on your self. Its a very beautiful image regardless.

Ah but being hard is what's needed to improve, ime, once a work is finished it's the right course to be hard on yourself over it so the next images are better. There is not much reason to go soft and take too much pride in old work, you should take pride in what your future is going to be instead

This looks sacrilegious.

No real critique, just keep up the good work!

another fav man, i like this one because it makes you ponder what it is and where it came from, then makes you think how you found it. its hard to explain but this one makes me think, and i like that

It's good to think, I'm glad to spark that if and when I can.
