I haven't seen Rebels - what's the significance of the creature in the background?

It's a Convor, But half way through the clone wars and through rebels, they've been following Ahsoka around. One started following Ahsoka after she got 'saved' by the good side of the force. The Convor also has the same color cheme and markings of the character. So it's something special.
