Hi guys! This is a new set of 12 artworks I did for the new Star Wars Essential Reader's Companion. Although the dateline for this book was a lot tighter it nevertheless was an enjoyable and rewarding experience.As with the last book I will be posting them in the order of sequence as it appears in the Reader's Companion. Enjoy!
This next scene is from Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader. Vader and his 501st Legion battles Wookies and Jedis Siadem Forte and Iwo Kulka and just plain being a badass!

Overall, I think this is an amazing piece of artwork, but I do have one criticism: Vader's engagement with Forte and Kulka as described in the book was intended to showcase Vader's lightsaber skills, and I feel that depicting Vader using the Force defeats that purpose, and that it should've been a pure lightsaber duel.

i remember this scene from the book and i thought it was great, especially the moment where his grasp of the dark side of the force allows him to transcend being stuck in that armor. it's great seeing him in control of things that are initially restrictive to him. glad you rendered this scene!

I wonder if there are any in the storm troopers just lingering in the back and watching Vader. Just talking to each other like: "This new guy is a badass!" "Yeah but he has to focus too much on breathing." "HE IS KILLING TWO JEDI AT ONCE!"
