Description I'm dry!

Improvise!

Nat... about to give some poor sod a face full of Huskie.

Not much to say about this one. Yes, it's a dog's breakfast, I'm not feeling real arty right now. However I felt like drawing Nat with a chainsaw and Husqvarna make motorbikes as well so the choice of make was clear. Mmm, 50 inches of tree-felling goodness.

The shopping centre is based loosely on Indro shopping centre, possibly the most bloke-friendly shopping centre on the planet. It's impossible to get lost in (only two ways to go, up or down) and when you get sick of looking in shoe shops you can always "go to the can" and scoot across the road where there's all sorts of blokey stuff like Repco ("Cars are our life too") and JB HiFi. After that, there's a pub inside the centre itself and another down the road

Anyways, have fun all.

Holy crap. I dont want to be on the receiving end of that, too bad for the bastard with the ... M249 Minimi?

Anyway, the view from this angle is darn good, that chainsaw REALLY looks like its going for you.

Ha, cheers mate.

Actually it was meant to be an AK, but lack of any reference and messing up the perspective a bit probably ruined that

>.< now that you point it out, it DOES look like an AK.

Sorry, my bad.

The M249 was what came to mind since the iron sights are more or less the same...at least in the standard.

Yeah, I've discovered that funky angles are a great way of getting space where you need it in a pic

Hells yeah. The other good thing is that Indro is pretty much the Western Suburbs public transport hub. There's a bus interchange in the centre itself and a railway 2 minutes walk down the road...
... which makes it exceptionally easy to "just pop in" to the pub on the way home

Just ask Bruce Campbell. (Army of Darkness)

I saw this incredibly cheesy horror flick once called "Dead Alive". At one point the main character picked up a pushmower, blades facing out, and proceeded to literally mow through a horde of zombies. He was trudging through two feet of bloody body parts after. :3

Hmm, have you been playing Dead Rising or something?
Serves them right for landing a Blackhawk on a donut shop, lol. Also, this may be the "dog's breakfast" factor, but Nat seems to be wearing more layers of clothing or body armor that usual. Oh yeah, and one more thing - it's been a while since I checked, but I thought B.A.D. usually fought vaguely bad guys using old soviet-type gear, but then this soon-to-be-bisected fellow is wearing Oakleys. This leads me to believe that my assumptions about who they fight are wrong - so who does B.A.D. fight, exactly?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

wraith11 In reply to iyp080284 [2007-05-29 23:48:28 +0000 UTC]

No, that's pretty regular gear for what the B.A.D would wear into a short time-on-target mission. I mean, patrol order would be lighter of course

Ok, this could take a bit. The B.A.D fights in a world where the US has collapsed under it's own economic weight. Hence China has risen to the place of world superpower and begun empire building. They've so far worked their way across Asia and the sub-continent to the middle east, northwards to the Sea of Japan and are fighting southwards through Indonesia toward Australia.

Also, without the "World's Policeman" to stamp on anyone it doesn't like anymore a new Nazi-esque Apartheid regime rose in South Africa and has been slowly absorbing the African continent and are, at the start of the story, right on the shores of the Med, with EU and Commonwealth forces held up in Tripoli.

As for why the bad-guys have US equipment: when the US went into recession the same thing happened as when the USSR went out of business. Suddenly US gear became readily and cheaply available, so the enemy is happily fitted out with Abrams, M-16s, Apaches, F-22 and all that other fun stuff, as well as their own older Soviet weaponry. The US is now fighting itself, but there's plenty of ex-pat Americans fighting on both sides of the European war as well.

I know I'm probably not going to be popular for wiping out the States, but I needed to get it out of the way to start another major world conflict.

Hey, I'm not in uniform just yet, I can still have an opinion. ^^
Besides, if you ask me the U.S. economy is just waiting to tip over - needs more production capability, blasted service jobs, etc. Don't get me started. You didn't wipe us out, you just devalued the dollar and gave us a few big rats in the White House. Not a bad premise, and you've certainly gotten a few good yarns and a lot of kick-ass drawings out of it. )

Bah, I honestly don't see anything wrong with the slight differences in perspective, and so on. The detail and awesomeness of the scene is enough to make all that go away to some unseen cookie jar that no one could possibly reach. (And there I go again with those strange phrases... XD) In the end, this is all good stuff.
