lie this better, but still keep a crowbar with me.
Shotty - lot of damage up close and if I do it right one hit kill. also ammo would be relitively easy to find.
Revolver - good for range and acurate. good secondary
SMG - if I get rushed then I can cut those zombies down

The main reason I like the shotgun is the knock down power at close range, also if you need long shot slugs can replace the spread shots. I like revolvers because they can't jam and from my experience they are more accurate ^.^ as for the SMG, I prefer then to rifles. The ammo is easier to find, weighs less, less bulk, and the more compact design allows close to medium combat with no effort to switch between.

the only thing you are forgeting about is stopping power. You can find a short rifle but I see you point. The smg will provide an automatic firepower if the hord comes on you.
I'd like an M4/M16 personally because of the better stopping power and the fact that the ammo will befound in any police-station or military bass. also even on full auto the m16 and m4 have a burst system; it will fire 3 shots wait a little bit of time, enough to take your finger off the trigger, then fire the next three rounds. this makes in easier to count shots and I'll never have to take my finger for the trigger in order to fire the next 3 shots (no like the m16 in black ops). But theres lots of cleaning that goes into those guns so Bolt actions are also good.
The rest of the set I would take with no quams. A shotty is great in any apocolips and the revolver will be harder to jam and you can count shots easier. The shotgun would be my main most of the time. Bsically the shotgun is great.
great job

The MP5 (set on semi) is a great anti-zombie weapon....or was, until your removed the sights....where'd they go?

Even without it's still a great weapon lol I removed them because in a zombie situation they would likely snag on a piece of clothing when going for it if say ti was over your back. That's all lol

HK is at least in my opinion the best on the market, even their handguns are hard to beat in performance. I like revolvers for a few reasons, stopping power is usually higher and the single action such as this model makes you stop and aim for each shot not only conserving ammo but also making sure each shot counts. That and I have never even herd of a revolver jamming ^.^ oh and severing the top of the spinal collum or massive trauma to the brain are the most effective methods.

Yeah, it's important to make every shot count. Except I never seem to be that way - my fighting style seems to mostly involve me rushing into the fray, guns blazing and sword at ready as I prefer intense close and medium-range combat to stealth. I lack finesse admittedly in that department, but you could indeed say I'm good at melee combat.
Too much Legend of Zelda made me into a sword fiend ^_^

This is why the gunblade concept from final fantasy 8 would come into hand for people like you ^.^ can rush in but when its needed can switch to ranged combat without missing a beat.

Oh totally! I've always been fascinated by gun-swords. For the record, I tend to prefer shorter blades (10 to 18 inches) that are single-edged and have a good heft and preferably a sharp point, in other words they won't bend or wobble if you cut through saplings or dense brush. To me a bladed weapon is as much a survival tool as it is a weapon.

Nice. Nice. Although maybe add in a hunting rifle for added range.

I won't lie I'm a pretty craptastic shot with rifles lol >.< at least the ones I've used, my old roommate had a MP5 and took me to the range a couple times and out to about 40 yards I'm pretty good with it. That and I worry about being bogged down with to much weight, zombies maybe slow but they don't get tired either.

I'm quite good with a rifle, but it's more like bolt action rifles and semi automatic rifles e.g. M1 Carbine, Lee Enfield, etc, etc. Though if the zombies do come and britain gets attacked, I could just grab a SA80 from a dead or infected soldier. It's not righ, I know but the ends outway the means. I think.

I can agree with that, there is no point in letting yourself die when there is plenty of ammo on someone who is already dead, not like they need it anymore. I've gone hunting with a shotgun using slugs and I'm not to bad, not the best, good enough that I'm willing to go into bear and wolf country with that as my main weapon lol and I rank them just slightly higher than zombies on the danger level. Hand guns I do alright but I'm better with cylinder style, I think its just the less moving parts.

What's the highest on the danger level? I say it's xenomorphs and predators, then genetically engineered dinosaurs.

Hmm.. Tough call, wichi type of xenomorph are we talking? I think I agree with them being the highest risk level, maybe not the smartest animals out there, but then again bleeding acid and taking on the traits of their host ( as seen in alien 3 witht he dog, and AvP 2 with the predator) that mixed with how fast they populate I think makes then a rather powerful foe indeed. >.< The dinosaurs? na, not really to high, I'd rank them not much higher than say a lion or bear or any other hunter.

What about Terminators, like the T800s? Or will only a plasma rifle stop them?

Lies! Rease killed one with nothing but a standard pipe bomb ^.^ well technically it was crushed by Sara.. But it was pretty much scrap metal after the bomb lol and I agree plasma based weapons would be fun, I think that will be my next set I design.

Dude I'd LOVE to see a plasma design from you. I personally don't think rapid-fire, assault rifle-sized plasma weapons are feasible within the next 50 or so years because plasma is VEEERY hot and the weapon would probably explode violently if made to fire rapidly. That and the plasma generating mechanisms would probably be pretty bulky, so much so that even a shoulder-braced directed-plasma weapon would be a milestone achievement.
Though I say the Covenant plasma rifle is justified because the Covenant are aliens and we have no clue how advanced their technology is - they could've been using plasma weaponry for centuries!

Wolven-Slave In reply to Great-5 [2010-01-08 02:56:57 +0000 UTC]
Doom 3 really nailed how touchy a true plasma based weapon would be, they mention that firing more than one cell could literally melt the weapon ( best case ) or cause it to burst entirely. The concept to me is rather interesiting but designing an effective cooling method and still having the weapon be portable cause problems at least in my mind lol

Great-5 In reply to Wolven-Slave [2010-01-08 03:08:34 +0000 UTC]
Well I came up with an idea for a shoulder-braced plasma weapon which uses a UV laser to energize the air in front of it before using a device akin to modern-day plasma cutters to generate and accelerate plasma through the conductive channel. The weapon uses argon or xenon as ammunition and is just barely man-portable - you have to be really strong to carry it.
Earlier models were designed to be mounted on a Humvee-type vehicle.

Wouldn't rank dinosaurs as a high rank hunter?? What about the raptors, those things are smart as a fox and stronger than a lion.

This is true, but like all animals they have weakness, like the simple fact they cant swim, that alone makes for a Major weakness. Raptors, lets see, I'd rank those about as high as a pack of starving wolves for danger level. Wolves are pretty damn smart and when the get hungry enough they pull some rather impressive hunting moves.

Yes! handy, but Very messy >.< lol heavy to, I prefer either something like maybe a katana. The curved blade combined with light weight means you can swing 5xs as much for the same amount of energy, easier to carry and longer reach ^.^
