this is pretty neat, but my criticism is that it looks almost exactly like a conventional firearm. Well I can understand why, since you used Pimp My Gun for this, but still I'd picture the entire thing as having a much larger bore, a bulkier, square body for holding the plasma generator, a long, thick barrel with focusing coils, and it would probably be shoulder-braced. But I understand Pimp My Gun cannot do that.
If you wanna go more advanced and DO create a fully handheld plasma weapon, I would definitely make it two-handed and base its frame ideally on the G11 assault rifle, which already looks outwardly more like a science fiction energy weapon than a projectile-firing firearm.

That's a good idea ^.^ I like that, the G11 off the bat I really like anyway, it has such a cool look behind it. The theroy I had behind this was the plasma charge is preset in the casing ( what I call magazines in my book ) and the feed port is also an internal cooling unit, again the unit is flawed because in order to rapid fire plasma charges it has to cool them to a point they are only effective for a short distance. That's the idea anyway lol and yep I use pimp my gun with most all of my gun ideas, such an epic site and until I get to Texas and can get a drawing station its the best I can work with.
As always I welcome your help ^.^ I fully admit other than the guns I own I don't know much about them, I know a bit here and there from say the Aliens movie and the AVP books as far as futuristic weapons go that's about it. Still direct energy weapons such as laser and plasma have always caught my eye, I've tried to brake down the exact function but each time I do I just confuzzle myself lol

I've always thought of a concept where a powerful UV laser creates a conductive channel in the surrounding air, through which a plasma generator can feed the same sort of plasma used by industrial cutters and the like.
Ammunition could be compressed inert gas or solid fuel pellets.

Hmm, the solid pellets seem like they would be better than the compressed gas to me, I'd have to see them both in action before making a real decision lol but I like that idea. One energy weapon that has always had my attention is the light sabers from the starwars books, I want to know how they can get the energy to only go so far and yet still be that powerful lol

Yeah I recently wrote a bit about the PPG (phased-plasma gun) last night since I couldn't sleep. WARNING: this is very loooong.
Phased Plasma Gun (PPG)
A heavy assault cannon used by SEALE forces, the phased-plasma gun is a powerful directed-energy weapon that fires bolts of superheated plasma. It comes in vehicle-mounted as well as shoulder-braced forms. It uses a powerful UV (ultra violet) laser to generate a conductive channel in the air through which superheated lithium-vapor plasma is accelerated magnetically. The weapon uses ultracompressed lithium pellets as ammunition, and with an attached drum mag it can hold up to 500 rounds. Despite being unsurpassed in power output and damage potential, the PPG's capacitor banks take a good two seconds to build up an adequate charge, and as such the weapon's fire rate suffers greatly. Newer models feature pulse-modulation capacitors, computer-regulated, which can increase the fire rate to a maximum of two rounds per second. Such hi-output plasma guns do, however, suffer from heat buildup and the occasional explosive overload.
The most advanced PPG models feature miniaturized plasma generating circuitry, advanced cooling systems and state of the art energy-pulse capacitor banks, and as such are capable of up to four shots per-second. These weapons are treated as heavy rifles but are far too heavy for the unaided human to carry, thus they are issued to SEALE special-forces marines who wear strength and performance-enhancing exoskeletons. In this case the PPG rifles are the standard issue, rather than the trusty M91 and M7 AERO rifles.
