I've got a quick trick for flowers at the conservatory (greenhouse light) ... instead of messing with the aperature, I set the camera on macro mode , stand back, and use a zoom. ...control light levels with the shutter speed ...for some reason macro-mode zoom provides an abnormally long (but not too long) DOF.

Thanks--the best time for flower closeups are just after a rainfall--the lighting and the droplets worked for me!

Thank you very much---it's funny, if I had sprayed this flower to add drops, I would not have thought it looked realistic with this many drops on it--nature does great things!

Thanks very much for your comments and --the droplets are all natural--it rains almost every day in Costa Rica at this time of year --like most tropical rainfalls though, most are short-lived! Costa Rica is a BEAUTIFUL country to visit!

It is beautiful--a real haven for phtographers! Haha--locked up in Canada....I never feel that way--we have seasons!

yes im definatly going to have to visit there Canada isn`t bad, but most of the trees are coniferous and what not. We have nothing tropical or anything. It`s really beautiful because of the mountains we have.
