WilderRose — Arizona Sky Necklace

Description This necklace has a nice sky-blue turquoise rectangle piece with a light lemon chrysophrase stone below it. There are four large gold-dyed freshwater pearls at the sides and four turquoise beads as accent. The centerpiece is hung on square-stitch beaded straps. It is finished with beaded round clasp pieces and sterling silver hook and eye closure.

I will try to make time for a better picture this weekend.

I have to say this is not a favorite design for me. I may have to eventually take it apart and reuse the stones in another design. For now, it is what it is.

The ideas come mostly from my head, which is not always such a good place.

I pick up techniques here and there. Bead and Button magazine is great for inspiration. But this is how it usually goes:

1. Start with a focal stone or two, glue down to the backing
2. Stare at it a bit until I get some idea of what I want it to look like
3. Start sewing on beads
4. Toss original design idea I thought of out the window
5. End up with totally different piece than I originally set out to make

I am glad you like this one, though. It probably needs some emo support since it's not one of my favorites.

Oh no no no! don't take it apart! It's beautiful, to me it looks like an abstract angel sorta thing. and art deco too design wise, more so if the beads were done in silvery grays, white and black

Okay, I'm not crazy! I think it looks like an angel, too. Didn't want to say it up front. Yep, sort of art deco feel too.

Don't worry, it's safe. I'm starting to feel a little sorry for it. Maybe I will find it a good home.

don't take it apart! if you want to change something, teh straps/chain/whatever might do to be a bit wider.

I think that is not different from your other work ( I know that you dont like geo too much ) because the most of your jewerly is geometric (my opinion).And why not,it's not something bad.Your work is very creative,each piece is unique...different stones,different colors...TenchiNeko have rigt:"what one person hates,another loves." I am not sure exactly why it is not a fave of mine. I won't worry about it... As you say, what one person hates, another loves. I did enjoy making it, though. Playing with the beads is the best part and if what I make does not suit me, the next piece I make might just thrill me.

Wow, that is pretty awsome. I honestly love it and cant see why you dont feel satisfied with it, but then again, the style is diffrent from most of your jewelry.
Most of your art is so wavy and free flowing, and this one is very geometric and ancient looking. Well atleast, from my point of view! C:
But thats what I love about it.
What one person hates, another loves.
My birth stone is turquois, but I never really liked it much. The shades are usually too.. pastelly. lol

I am glad you like it. I suppose it is a bit too geo for me, that has to be it. Because the colors are definitely colors I like. It seems like it is the shape I don't care for.

Turquoise has long been my favorite stone. My father made me many sterling silver and turquoise jewelry pieces through the years. I don't think I could ever grow tired of that stone.
