Description
This piece is inspired by the Welsh legend of Bloduewedd. Because of a curse by his mother, Llew was unable to marry a human woman. To provide him a wife the magicians Math and Gwydion created a woman out of Broom Flowers, Meadowsweet, and Oak Leaves, her name translates literally into Flower Face. Bloduewedd did not love Llew, whom she was literally made for, instead she gave her heart to another and entered into a plot to kill Llew. The plot failed and as punishment Math and Gwydion turned her into an owl to be reviled by all other birds.

I have sculpted my Bloduewedd in her owl form and incorporated sculpted oak leaves, broom flowers, and meadowsweet. She took 5 hours to create in polymer clay.
