some sketches i did of Helga Sinclair from Disney's Atlantis the Lost Empire.She is my favorite charcater because she is not the hero, but she is not completely evil and looney either. she's in between. she's the gray area.
and she's so snappy and sarcastic! i love her! AND she kicks butt! literally.
i found some reference sheets on the web, so that's what these are from.
Helga sn Atlantis are not mine, if they were, Helga would have survived ( which i believe she did) and lived happily ever after. (darn you , Rourke!)

I love the eyes and the standing drawing. She's just my favorite character. It's hard to find any fanart of her at all and I always get so excited when I come across art like this! (I rp as Helga and it's always nice to find more fans!) Good work

Great study! I think studies are pretty fun to look it; they're helpful and they also give insight as to the artist's process as well; not to mention, lots of expressions are funny!

i think that's why i love drawing her, because she has such sharp features, and that's pretty close to my personal style.
i've said this before, but i wish i could daw soft faces like you. i love the way you shade, and my shading is so hard and not very soft most of the time (there are a few exceptions).

What I need to do/learn is how to make my cartoons more... cartoony
I need to simplify them to be more.... eh simpler. I mean the line quality and cell shading I guess. For example, anime. Anime doesn't have any blending/shading. Yet they still have good art.

xactly! except i think i would have to kill myself before i drew anime. i mean, people who do anime can still be great artists, but its hard to really get a sense of their personel style. at least we both have distict styles. i can look at a picture and say, "oh, ryfusd totally drew that."
you can't really do that with anime. sure, there are slight differences, but not many.
