i'm working on developing her to make her interesting. i hate two dimensional characters, and in her story, she's a main character, so she needs to be very developed.
what i have so far for her is that she was a child queen and while she was growing up, the people left to rule the country for her ran it into the ground and the gap between rich and poor grew very great. now there are vast slums everywhere. she is at a point where she had had power for a few years, but her advisers have trouble letting her rule. they either don't want to give her power or they don't think she can actually do it.
she's strong and is learning to be fierce when she has to be. she gets a girl from the slums to be one of her advisers, much to the horror of everyone else, and uses her as a link to her people.

hands are hard! but a square is the first step. you have to make them blocky shapes first and then refine them.

the funny thing is, i can draw hands just fine if the are not actually attached to a body. but when i have to draw the rest of the arm, it all goes to shit. they are just really complicated and detailed.
