I'm at my in-laws house this week so I thought I'd take some pictures of the artwork I've given them through the years. These are actual drawings from Disney animation films. I think this one is also from the section where Pocahontas is looking up at John Smith who is in a tree talking to her. This was a close up in that section.Related content

I watched this movie last night because I saw this picture 
Also, I noticed that not alot of shadow was used in this film, the characters were rather flat shaded. Is this for ease of animation?

Yeah the shadows thing is an artistic decision. They were going for a graphic style.

I love seeing roughs from these movies, they're sometimes the only way I can find out which artist did what on a film. Actually that reminds me, you wouldn't happen to know if any kind of accessible database exists at Disney (or other studios) for crediting which artist worked on which scene?

Good question, I don't know if Disney has organized something like at or not. They have all the old sheets that list that info in their archives though.

I love how stylized Pocahontas was!! The eyes and the nose are so different from what Disney usually did...
