Description Cheng Wen... re-DONE!

Everyone's (least) favorite Tien bard returns, with new spells, new skills, and an attack bonus the 1st-level barbarian in my Kingmaker game can defeat.

But hey, he's got style and acting skill in spades.

BTW, how is your CoT-campaing going on? My group is gonna start tomorrow, the great me as their GM. We have halfling sorcerer, human cavalier of shield and inquisitor of Shelyn.

The game's going pretty well! My character, Cheng Wen, almost got killed at the very end of the Six Trials of Larazod (troll skeletons winning initiative plus focusing on the lead character plus combat-ineffective bard equals -7 HP in one round), but thankfully, my girlfriend's character, Aloysia, and our friend Dustin's character, Slappy Wet-Trousers, are killing machines, so they dropped 'em down pretty quick. Jonathan Whiteling also plopped a few well-placed fire spells into them, which was good.

We're now at the Lord Mayor's place, where the food and drink have futzed up my Wisdom, bringing it to 6 right now. And we're only on the second course.

Ben Bruck, who's running the game, and I have taken to talking in our really bad German accents when roleplaying between Cheng Wen and one of the people at the party. I don't have my notes handy, but he's the balding guy who told us about the Asmodean Knot.

Your cavalier's aware that they won't get too many chances to fight mounted in CoT, right? I'm sure they'll do fine anyway, I just don't want them to fell ripped off.

Yes, I mentioned about it to him, but he said that it wont matter. He will use the horse as often as possible!

Oi oi. Wisdom...6? Maybe he should calm down a little And I believe that bald guy's name is Erten Oberigo, if I recall.

We started the campaign at last week, featuring Theon Tyrell, the cavalier (order of shield), Quiler Ghan, inquisitor of Shelyn and Kline, halfing arcane sorcerer. They succesfully escaped to sewers, and saved Arael. They managed pretty well, but I scared when Guiler's player asked our group :"So, it is okay to kill these hellknights?" :I

I wish luck to your group, and I hope that Cheng's Wisdom will change back. SOON.

I'm currently down to a Wisdom of 1. All from the dinner, BTW. Can't get much worse than that, but the worse that it can get to is pretty darn bad.

We got some potions, but we're afraid to use 'em willy-nilly.

Is he an arcane duelist? He looks like he might be trying to be one!

He's working his way to it. Think wuxia swordplay, with the crazy acrobatic stunts powered by magic. He won't be able to pull it off for a while, so for now he earns his keep by inspiring his allies and placing hideous laughter spells amongst his foes. Oh, and knocking every Perform (act) check thrown at him out of the park. He's hot a +14 to that right now, and it's only going up.

He also just spent every last dime he had on a mithral chain shirt, so he finally has armor and won't get beaten up all the time. It also happens to be artfully crafted of a rare material, something Cheng Wen demands from pretty much everything.

But of course! Nothing but the best and most expensivest.

(The Arcane Duelist is a way cool bard variant in the APG if you have not seen it yet!)

(Also what's the deal with those things I sent you, you never got back to me D

Very nice, the style just fits awesomely well here imo.
"and an attack bonus the 1st-level barbarian in my Kingmaker game can defeat" - I take it the sword he's holding is a stage prop then . Lucky his acting skills can make it seem threatening...

The sword is actually a masterwork jian (Tien longsword) and, in the hands of someone with some combat skill and a decent strength, would be a fine instrument of murder. In the hands of a 3rd level bard with a Strength of 11, it's, well... he did hit a goblin and a zombie way back at 1st level.

In a few levels, with some feats and a level of fighter under his belt, he'll be doing much, much better.
