You can't quit until you try
You can't live until you die
You can't learn to tell the truth
Until you learn to lie
You can't breathe until you choke
You gotta laugh when you're the joke
There's nothing like a funeral to make you feel alive
Just open your eyes
Just open your eyes
And see that life is beautiful.
Will you swear on your life,
That no one will cry at my funeral?

"You can't learn to tell the truth
Until you learn to lie"

Funny how true that can actually be.

May I use this for a video I am making?

Of course!
Just give me a link to it when you're done, I'd like to see it.

I think she is mixing two neural depressants together, namely, barbiturate and ethanol. This is highly dangerous.

That's kind of the idea. Sometimes life can be so "beautiful" as to make this look like something you should have gone with years ago.

Good art, plus Internet, plus sufficient time. Dang. Shenanigans happen.

I'd love to see more of your art. They have a lingering mist of sadness that I appreciate.

Not sure if I should be happy about the lingering mist of sadness :/

There exists a compound feeling of sadness + pleasure. Sometimes it feels good to be sad, sometimes it is interesting to observe the sadness of oneself.

More than often I feel happy to be sad. [link]

I'd rather avoid the sadness. Embracing it usually means you've given up. Not to mention I don't like liking it.

You are very observant. I do have given up, mostly.

No, don't think I am. Suppose I just care a slight bit more than the average Joe.
How come you've given up though?

I have stopped escaping from sadness and solitude, and have come to accept them as my friends.

Being with them is a familiar experience and thus somewhat comforting.Β

Another advantage of sadness that I have noticed is that apathy and pessimismΒ makes me think more clearly and dispassionately. Several years ago, I realizedΒ that I think about lifeΒ and other philosophical topics most productively in winter, with the help of the winter blues.

Vabla In reply to KopaLeo [2013-07-28 17:36:13 +0000 UTC]

As familiar and comforting it might be, it's not a good thing. Life is defined by fighting. What would a story be if the protagonist just gave up and let apathy take over?
Cynicism, skepticism and a slight pessimistic approach is what you're thinking of I believe, not sadness and apathy.

Well, several years ago I realized that winter is just doing her thing and likes it no more than you. I also realized that I will DIE from apathy if I continue without changing anything. Still feel like I'm heading for death though, even if not as much...

During the crappy moments, I can always count on Fluttershy to cheer me up. Should probably stop doing THIS though...
