Description Okay, was chatting with the other day and suddenly had an idea. So, guys, here's the result!

~ ~ ~ ~

From Chimera's Journal;

Well, the other day, Alexander came to me. We started up a chat for the heck of it, and somehow the topic strayed to what I used to do before I joined the division. So I told him, I used to go around and warn all my chimera relatives about Kerberos. Of course, if I met anyone else, I'd warn them too, yeah? So we kept talking, and again the subject strayed, this time to dragons.

I told him that I had met a rather friendly dragon somewhere in China a while ago, and had had a lovely chat. He was quite surprised at my manners; usually Chimeras were pretty rude and antisocial. We hit it off pretty well (so to speak), and he told me to come back some day, if I had the time. Darkie asked me what dragons were like, so I told him. He seemed somewhat interested, but when I tried to explain to him how big they could get, he just didn't seem to get it. Dragons get larger with age, right? So, in a spur-of-the-moment moment, I decided to go back to China and pay a visit to my good Oriental dragon friend.

Of course, I took Alexander Darkbreaker along, and Greene too, since he really didn't have anything better to do. We walked/flew there, since dragons don't like being found and I'm pretty sure that Darkie's ship would have brought a lot of attention. I told the two guys on the way there to be respectful. I also told them that the chinese, dragons included, really valued family. So, be respectful of that too, got it!?

By the time we got there, I'd finally managed to convince the guys to be fairly humble about themselves (I know they're pretty awesome, but trying to force your opinion onto a dragon is never a good idea).

We entered the dragon's den, and I introduced the guys to him. He was pretty happy to be meeting the son of a god, and we started talking about what had happened in the time since we'd last seen each other. What do you know, he was going to be a dad himself! (He's holding the egg in the pic!)

But, there was a little hitch in the meeting. Remember how I told you that Darkbreaker hadn't quite understood the scale of a dragon's size? Well... it seemed that the dragon was a little bigger than he'd thought... He, as well as Greene, had one hell of a time getting their jaws off the floor.

The dragon was fairly understanding about this. It happened a lot, apparently.

Captain Greene belongs to himself , Alexander also belongs to himself Go see them if you haven't already!

DAYUM he's a big one. I know some dragons dont have a size restriction, and the chinese ones in particular are well known to be guardians of the innocent, love Darkbreaker's "glasses tip OH SHIT WTF" expression.

one question though. whats his name?

always glad to meet a nice dragon for a change too, most of the ones I've run into are the ancient-as-hell "DAMN HUMAN STAY OFF MY LAWN!" type. that or trying to eat me for no damn reason.

You know, I never came up with a name... I think Darkie may have mentioned one when he did his write-up on Eternity's end, but I'm really not sure.

Well, really, just get off their lawn. Sheesh. You know how hard it is to keep the bones feng-shui when little adventurers are constantly running all over them or blowing them up?

I know, but the problem is (except for a few) they dont leave any markers that a sane person can use to go oh hey something really fucking big lives here. dont go in the 20 mile+ radius thats been claimed. the politer ones use barrier fields, or like you said piles of bones (dead giveaway for enter at thy own risk)

still, dragons are cool, and I usually carry a gemstone on me to buy information with. they know a LOT.

Those are the ones that like a little human to garnish their meals. Or they just forgot the signs... but hey, who reads the signs anyways?

Gemstones aren't easy to come by... but information can be even harder at times.

those gems have good purchasing power with dragons though, so its like using quarter that works like a 5 dollar bill. they enjoy them not for the oooooh shiny gemstone. but rather, the hardness of them. diamond is the best, but opal's and garnets, while pretty, are worthless to them.

I take it that you've read dragonology, hmm?

Things are going to work a bit differently in the DO universe when it comes to dragons, I think (how so, I'm not sure).

I've seen worse actually. at work the other day I saw a guy coughing up what looked like coffee grounds (it was dried blood) turns out he had a painless ulcer that hadn't really gotten bad until 4 months later. he's fine now though. taking meds for it.

I both love and hate being a medic sometimes.

its not been so bad. did you know most Iraqi's have never seen a snowman though? it snowed in iraq (all of three days...) so they're freezing to death and staying warm, so the iraqi army sees us suddenly celebrating. why? duh, christmas. we had to explain our version of Yuletide to them, but thankfully all three religions being present in the region (jerusalem anyone?) they caught up quick. one of those ooooh yeah I remember that now kinda deals. so anyone one of my NCO's was messing around building a snowman, cuz its hey, what ya do. so they're curious, wanting to know just how THAT started, etc cuz lets face it, building a weird looking creature out of snow is a bit off to those not used to it.

said NCO tounge-in-cheek said "man it looks wierd now, how do you think we get so tough? we gotta fight the damn thens when it warms back up!"

big mistake. turns out ol' frosty had about 10 to 15 AK-47s pointed at it pretty quick. to include the farmer who's land we happened to be on (his was an older--read, ancient--single shot rifle)

so sure enough, its iraq and that damn sun comes out---

BAKABAKABAKABAKABAKABAKABAKABAKABAKABAKABAKA!!!!!

and frosty gets obliterated by (my count) at least 300 7.62 rounds, courtesy of iraq's finest.

a tear shed for a noble snowman lost...

I know. and thats just one of many. US special forces offially dont give a damn, I WATCHED one dangle this one jerk out of the side of a blackhawk from the end of a rope that he was tied to--with one hand hanging on to the landing strut with no ropes--and interrogate this guy for intel. (they had him doing shit on video so it was case closed)

so needless to say, he dropped him when he got done. my patrol saw him go *whistle noise* *SPLAT* *Wah-Wah-WAAHHHHHhhhh*

RickAkemi In reply to TyrantChimera [2011-07-17 02:25:04 +0000 UTC]

its special forces, hon. they pretty much have a license to kill as they see fit. so they can basically do whatever.

as for the bastard in question, he most definitely had that coming. the way they got him to begin with was an "interesting" lesson in basic math.

4 guys come into a village in the middle of the night. no shots are fired. 5 come out. interesting...

TyrantChimera In reply to RickAkemi [2011-07-17 02:39:07 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, gotta be careful with that license to kill thing!

So 4 guys in, 5 out? He was sneaking someone in, then?

negative, I just had the pleasure of working with them that one insane-ass time. I'm just a normal army medic (PFC at that...) for 4-10 Cavalry based in fort carson colorado.

Hey, they probably have a higher mortality rate. Being a normal PFC is probably better for your health.

It's meeting nice dragons like this that keep me from hating (and attempting the obliteration of) the entire dragon race as a whole.

It's also the sheer size and strength of said dragons.

Lol, I love my "holy crap" face.

Yeah dude, the scales look really awesome!

Yeah, trust me, that would be pretty much suicidal. Ever hear of Ouroboros? DRAGON.

Yeah, that's a bit of a deterrent, too.

I'm glad you do! I tried to make it as funny as possible, but expressions can be pretty hard on guys with glasses... Good thing I had practice.

Thanks a bunch!
