Alright, let's start with an exlplanation of my thought process here. I started with;

1. Random Legend of Zelda stuff- For fun, right?
2. Majora's mask- Hmm, great game, too short.
3. Oni/Fierce diety- Cool character design
4. Oni's eyes- man, those things are eternally blank and staring... creepy...
5. Snakes- Ooh! snakes are often a symbol of eternity! I bet drawing Oni as a snake would be cool!
6. Bats- hey, some snakes prey on bats. That's cool
7.Vaati- OMG, Vaati is totally a bat! Sweet! I'm a drawing this!

...and I still don't quite know how I ended up with this pic...

To those of you who are confused; I tend to call the Fierce Diety Oni. It's a cool name, although it's apparently japanese (or something other) for demon. For his snake design, I sketched it out a few times, with a lot less detail, and decided to add the thing on the tip of his tail at the last minute. I like it, though.

Tried to colour this is pencil crayon (that medium almost never works for me, I'm not sure why I bother). The scanner kinda buggered it up, it seems. Otherwise, I am quite proud about how Oni's scales and body came out. Used metallic blue there... really neat. But, the greenish hue to his tail probably could've been stretched out a bit...

EDIT - Okay, I just realized, after intense snooping around, that the part inside of the blue markings (on hid head) should have been yellow. oops, but nothing I can do about it now.
