My submission for the HP art project. From OotP
ETA: I really must credit/thank Nullermanden [link] for his fantastic gallery of interesting photographic portraits. I did a bit of a Frankenstien, taking a nose from one guy, some eyes from another etc. (the hand belongs to my husband.)

Wow...gorgeous! The value and the wrinkles and lines all on his face are just awesome. And his eyes are lovely - they actually look very wizened, but still very sad. The emotion you've captured in them (and the rest of his face) is great. And I love the tear. *sniffs* This was one of my favorite bits of OotP, and you've illustrated it beautifully. Great work!

Thank you very much! I'm glad that the scene lent itself to a portrait, because, really, it's what I'm most comfortable drawing. I found some LOVELY old men on DA here to base his features on. I was terrified I wouldn't find a good reference, and was planning on going out with my camera and photographing strangers!

Thank you! I drew the tear quite early on, and it kept tricking me! I'd be drawing part of his beard, and see it out of the corner of my eye, and think; OH GOD! I spilled something on the drawing!
