Baragon is a subterranean earth kaiju discovered in 1965 when it was awoken by a factory near a Shirane village which had quickly polluted the land. Baragon amerged from underground and destroyed the factory and the village, it hid in the nearby forests, feeding on a local farms livestock. At the time another Monster, a form of Frankenstein Monster was taking up residence in Shirane. Eventually the two beasts battled for territory against eachother but a subterranean cave under them collapsed, burying both the monsters which would not be seen again till 1995.

In 1995 both monsters would reappear on Monster Island when several King Ghidorahs had attacked, Baragon and the gargantua's who split from Frankenstein would help destroy the aliens. After the battle, Baragon was one of the surviving monsters who would take permanent residents on MonsterIsland.

There are other species of Baragon, one from polar regions and other species. In 2019 Baragon lives in subterranean caves and rarely comes too the surface.
