From: Las Cinco Muertas.

Population: Unknown, mixed with the existing ceratosaur population.

The ceratosaurus was a dinosaur originally from rhe Jurassic period North America. A medium sized hunter that is characterized by it's four fingered hands, osteoderms on its body, very long teeth and three prominent horn like crests on its head. It was once the top predator in its enironment before being slowly supplanted by Allosaurus.

A number of ceratosaurs were recreated by Ingen scientists on Isla Sorna. These individuals had tan bodies with blackish stripes and their heads were a vibrant red. They however lack the the crests above their eyes instead have just the bony base of them. Unlike most of the other dinosaurs, its creation was illegal under the Gene Guard Act. The ceratosaurs were experimented on and after some time released into the wilds of Isla Sorna.

When the true nature of the ceratosaurs creation was revealed, the M.I.P was sent in to study them and the other illegally created dinosaurs and how they impact the ecosystem. The late stages of this study included securing eggs and bringing back to Monster Island for study. A short time after the dinosaurs on Isla Sorna started to die out for unknown reasons. So the M.I.P started a rescue of the dinosaurs from the Las Cinco Muertas with the help of Claire Dearing. Once secured the dinosaurs including the Ceratosaurus were brought to Monster Island.

Once on Monster Island the ceratosaurs were quarantined and checked for disease and other illnesses before being released. During this period, the research into the creatures bore fruit. It was shown that not only are Ingen's ceratos can interbreed with the ceratos from U Island, their eggs can one day be used to breed back the near extinct Doilar from stored DNA samples. Once the ceratosaurs were deemed ready, they were released into the wilds of Monster Island. Today the Ceratosaurus have intergrated well into the island's environment. They live alone or small groups around areas with plenty of water. Though some have been seen in the desert region, competing their old nemesis Allosaurus. Despite the harsh environment they're already starting to breed with the existing ceratos, which will result in offspring to better survive in this savage land.

This Ceratosaurus is from Jurassic Park 3 owned by Universal Studios.
