Originally from the northern territories of Cretaceous North America, the pachyrinosaurus was one of the more prominent dinosaurs. A relative of triceratops, instead of prominent horns this creature has a bony boss on its snout which turns its head into living battering ram. They lived in large herds to protect themselves from predators like albertosaurus. They became extinct before the end of the Cretaceous period.

These animals were brought back to life by the Masrani Corporation for the Jurassic World theme park. A herd of over 20 animals were established and kept on a holding facility on Tacano, soon to be transferred to the park. Unfortunately the transfer order never came due the Indominus rex breakout. In the aftermath the M.I.P eventually took over the legal rights for the animals and they were soon transferred to Monster Island. Instead of the mainland the ceratopsians were moved to sizable island offshore to avoid competition with the growing amount of herbivores. Today the herd enjoys a somewhat peaceful life and their number is gradually increasing.
