Description The makings of a song:
Young robins take to wing;
A dream I had, and gone.

On waking, no birds call,
Nor does the morning bring
The makings of a song.

Spilt leaves all speak to fall -
She left by way of spring;
A dream I had, and gone.

She thought our timing wrong,
As if more time might bring
The makings of a song;

And now these threadbare halls
House only memories.
A dream I had, and gone.

I close the velvet box -
Inside, an unworn ring;
The makings of a song,
A dream I had - and gone.

This is a simpler one of your poems- by which I mean much of it isn't dressed in metaphor and the meaning clear at the start- and for the emotion here, that works. Sweetly- bittersweetly, I should say- written.
