Description the final work for this year. was hard enough to do, too.
task was to make a ring that's for many people known as "princess diana ring". meaning one "big" stone in the middle surrounded by smaller stone. i was really like... OHMYF*GODNO! because i think those are, in most cases, dead ugly... but then i must say i'm quite happy with how mine came out. god thanks we were allowed to chose the form on our own, so already the square stone i thinks take a lot of the general "granny-ness" off those kind of rings off this one. all work on the metal part and the setting of the middle stone went absolutely without problem... then, the setting of the small ones.. i have no idea what really was wrong with me, but i against my better knowledge i put them there not even remotely deep enough. i don't even start about what problems i had with them consequently. i will go on practicing that kind of setting next year.. until i get it right...
whatever, it is done... and this is my first real work with gold, and white gold at that... damn you, white gold, but i beat you!! haha

otherwise the basics:

750-white gold
center stone 5x5mm turmaline
surrounding stones 1,5mm cubic zirconia

Not only the ring is very beautiful and elegant, the shape and the colour are perfect, but the presentation is simply amazing!

Nice! I believe term you're looking for for the diamond settings are "flush-setting". We used the same technique for the accents on the bottom section of this piece~[link]

I'm curious about the central gem... is it tsavorite garnet, tourmaline or diopside perhaps? Green is my favroite color and green gems are an obsession of mine. Regardless... it's a very nice ring and you did a beautiful job And I don't think it's "granny-like"... it has some traditional elements but it's very elegant

thanks! unfortunately the link isn't working, i would have liked to check up on it. always like to learn the proper vocabulary for my occupation
the center stone's as tourmaline, as i mentioned above i'm glad people don't think it's granny-like after all.. i really think the square form takes off a lot of that ^^

ahh yeah that one worked! nice piece btw. i'm not sure about the setting though, since what's missing in that flush setting are the small grains/beads that hold the stones down... i need to do some more research on it. but thanks for you help!! ^^

Oh... hmm.. I guess I couldn't see the settings clearly enough.. I understand now what you're referring to... you had it right...it IS bead setting. This link describes flush setting~ [link]

Thanks for checking out the link.. glad you liked the piece

That is so amazing......Can I ask.....The stones sorunding the big one...Are they "just" in their settings, and then sorunded by the square frames, or is there something between them? It's kind of difficult to see on the picture.
By the way....I also really love the leaf thing you have done. Really creative way to take the pictures.

thanks so much! ^^

the square itself is basically the setting. the stones are set by milling matching holes in the sheet, then raising up metal slivers from around them, which are pushed down onto the stones and formed into little grains to keep them set. stones that small are often set like that... the name of that technique should be bead-setting in english, but i'm not hundred percent sure about that

i'm glad you like the presentation, too... i often like to play around a bit when i take photos of my jewelry

This is fabulous! Maybe it's because I now am a "granny" or maybe because you are just an awesome designer, but I flipped over this one. Wonderful job!

^^ mhhh... i don't know it it's because of what you write... but you don't really behave like a granny imo, even if you are anyways, as i wrote above, the square form i think takes away quite a lot of the grannyness XD thank you!!
