Description Organic watercraft derived from (nyctosaurid) pterosaurs, obviously--or more accurately, from massively hypertrophied nyctosaurid heads. The core body's been so fused, reduced, and atrophied as to render the organism completely dependent upon its custodial sapients for sustenance and metabolic maintenance. As per thomastapir.deviantart.com/art… I picture the animal nourished via an "I/V drip"-style nutrient feed system. Some variants may retain a rudimentary digestive system, allowing them to opportunistically supplement their diet via more conventional methods during long sojourns.

That force-feedback neural control yoke interface is inspired by a woodpecker's tongue:

Will Scrap soon. I'll probably continue to work further along these same conceptual lines...I sketched up some tapejarid variants a while back, but they never quite came together.  : /
This one's already kind of a companion piece to or variant iteration of
thomastapir.deviantart.com/art…
with a pterosaurian rather than avian memetogenetic heritage.

Half the time these rich fuckers are just paying for the prestige of owning one anyway.  : /

Really cool idea. I have old doodles somewhere that draw form a similar vein of thinking, albeit more dragonic - inspired by seeing the 2013 America's Cup race, where they sail these crazy wing-sail hydrofoil sailboats can get up to a whopping 40+ kts. I love the idea of a modified pterosaur as a "base," and the rigid wing-sail is spot on. The America's Cup hydrofoils use rigid sails as well, more akin to an aircraft's wing than a traditional sail at all!

Alwyas love how you'll "twist" an organic creature basis into something completely different to transform its function.

Ohhh man, I LOVE those America's Cup boats....You know, that's probably more what I had in mind when I was drawing the middle one at least.  I'm just a sucker for hydrofoils, catamarans, and trimarans generally speaking.

Thanks so much for your kind words, it means a lot coming from someone as talented and creative as yourself!

Cool.
I am now imagining a population on a low gravity planet used for hoverboards like in treasure planet

I'd like to see what a "feral" population would evolve into. Like your Post-chicken studies.
