Description
"My father was a beekeeper before me, his father was a beekeeper before him ... I want to follow in their footsteps, and their footsteps were like this: 'Aaaaaaaah! I'm covered in bees!'" -Mr. Eddie Izzard.Drawn in honour of Eddie's new tour (and yes, I'll probably give it to him when he comes here). I scanned the image at every phase, so if anyone wants a tutorial on basic coloured pencil portraits, let me know.

Oh, one thing- his fingers look odd. I remember them being thinner.

Mmm. Trouble with the lighting in the reference photo - it didn't allow enough shadow for things like the fingers to show that they were sloping downward, so they look a bit flat. But it was still one of my favourite images of him, so one takes the negative with the positive, so to speak.

Thank you! Now that you mention it... There is something romantic about comedians in general, and Eddie in particular - able to bring out all of the weaknesses of the world, humanity and themselves, and make us love them for it.

Yes, it was great. Eddie is fabulous to his fans. If you make it to a gig in the near future, stick around for fifteen minutes or so outside the venue - I think he makes a habit of coming out to answer questions.
