Ugly and grotesque, Gromlord is not a Perenio you should encounter willingly. With its ability to burn through nearly any object with its tentacles, and induce weakness and ailment by just being in its glowing light, one must prepare beforehand if they even want to withstand being near Gromlord.

As a Groklett, it was always fascinated by light, eating and playing with anything that shone or glowed. However, this sort of behavior only grew as it evolved into a Gromlord. So much so, that Gromlord isn't just intrigued by light anymore... it's completely obsessed, chasing down and consuming anything that it can see. This is also why Gromlord now has a detached eye - because the other "weaker" version didn't see everything 360 degrees around it, so it willed it to become detached.

Gromlord, because of its obsession, now eats glowworms in the thousands every day. In the beginning, glowworms only changed the color of its eye and tongue. However since its eating them in excess, other side effects have also become apparent, most notably are the tentacles that have sprouted on its back. The tentacles exude a poisonous liquid and are extremely acidic. It can cause erosion instantaneously if applied to nearly any surface, it can even burn through steel.

Those who do not heed the warnings of what Gromlord is capable of experience terrible and ailing fatigue when they are in its dim light. This is due to the evaporation of the acidic liquid on its tentacles and coming in contact with it. Thankfully, if one leaves early enough, they experience little to no long term damage. If, however, they stay within its light for an extended period of time, they may contract incurable diseases or other terminal illnesses - hence its chilling title of Darkness' Pestilence. So when travelling to places that Gromlord might be living in, it's wise to bring a gas mask... or better yet just avoid those places altogether.

Gromlord... echh >~<; What a challenge to draw though! I wanted to make him appear unappealing, but like... appealing at the same time? ŏwô? You can probably see my dilemma with this! >w< But I'd been thinking about this specific Perenio for a couple days now, and I've finally had the time to draw him! So here he is!
How I came up was his design was kind of interesting; I initially had Pokemon evolutions in mind, thinking about how some evolutions of Pokemon are completely different to their prior evolution, yet still maintaining some kind of continuity. A great example of this is the Litten line - a little kitten, a fiesty feline, then... a wrestler? I thought it might be fun to try to do the same thing, so in order to do that I didn't look at Groklett for reference, and only could make Gromlord based on what I could remember of his previous evolution. It was pretty challenging, but hey at least the effect worked! :D (er... at least I think it did. Let me know what you think! >w<; )
