Yeah like many holidays it's based on a lot of exaggeration lol, I doubt the colonists and the native got along quite so well as they did in the story but hey it's an excuse to feast!

To tell the truth, I not so well imagine philosophy of colonization. It seems, my country never had colonies. Because other countries wanted to make a colony of our territories
From history I see, that American Natives had very developed civilizations. I love their myths and culture. But we cannot change history. I mean (for example) We also have celebratory actions from communist parties in day of revolution. . Now we can discuss and speak, that it is wrong. But people trusted in idea! andlost lives for idea. It has happened once. The ending.
So, you belong to interesting culture! Take pleasure in this holiday!
