I love how you use the green and the classical art of beauty and beast.
The chose of colors for the mermaid worked out all too well for the green surrounding it.
It was a good idea to make the main subject, "Cthullu," large and have the mermaid be discovered latter.
Gold and green work well together.

Very good composition, color pallet and textures although I think that Cthulhu him/her self could have used a little larger value range as he/she is coming off a little flat compared to the mermaid.
