Because apparently I've become a watercolor addict!
And because I felt like drawing a Martian who's not Pirossa for a change. 
He did show up in at least one part of the story, though! Nr'tupa is the first Khedephi Martian encountered by Trean's exploratory crew that landed on Mars in 2018. This week's challenge at #ATC-Exchange is really giving me an excuse to draw some of the Astral Arcana aliens without breaking my brain stretching it beyond basic human anatomy.
Lazy, lazy girl. 
2.5"x3.5". Watercolor, Micron pen and gel pen on bristol.

Oh, thanks so much! I'm glad you like it, I don't tend to use such heavy colors with watercolor but it was great fun to experiment with it like that.

I really dig his eyebrows for some reason, and his expression looks the mix between pleased and somewhat awe struck.

Thank you! He's got the scaly Martian eyebrows, Pirossa actually has them too (even though my drawings of him are usually back some, so it's probably hard to see). I'm glad you like the expression... I wasn't really thinking too hard about exactly what he was looking at, but in-story he did get to watch Trean kick TREMENDOUS amounts of ass for justice, so that might possibly provoke a reaction like that. 
And SUPER thanks about the hands. I was a little iffy on these, but I'd just be remiss if I didn't do another FACE AND HANDS picture.

Ahh, I like this yellow person! It's maybe the blue bands and the hood that does it for me; I'm not so fond of the yellow skin and yellow hair combo, but that brown shade works well, I think. Very mysterious eyes!

Ah, thanks! The yellow/yellow combo is exclusively a product of being a gold Martian, so alas, you'd be hard-pressed to find one that doesn't fit that description. (Of course, in real life it'd less "yellow", more "golden"). Glad you like the eyes!

This is really pretty. The mask, headscarf, the elongated features in the face and the background makes me think ancient Egyptian influences are at work?

Thank you! Yes, there's DEFINITELY an Egyptian influence on this particular pic; the gold Martians, in the story my fiance and I are working on, have a very Egyptian-looking aesthetic in their art, dress, and architecture. The elongated features, though... those are just something I do.

Looks and is, actually, this is one of those cases where he's actually pretty genuine.
I'm glad you're liking that texture on the bristol... quite honestly, it probably comes from me horribly abusing the paper with coat after coat of watercolor. I'm not sure bristol is designed to withstand that much water, but oh well, I like its starting textureless surface.
