Description Naro Hunts.

This WAS A LOT OF fun TO PAINT!
first of all its a commission for Shegoran , and its of they're beautiful character Narogesh.

Narogesh mostly come out at night and in this case she's hunting, if not stalking prey in the pitch black of night, the way i really wanted to paint this was as if you were looking throw night vision goggles, and to feel like you were there in that canyon.
She would usually take her prey on the wing up in the night sky but these tight and narrow spaces are to dangerous at night so Narogesh thinks stalking up on sleeping prey would be a safer approach tonight. Quiet Yet deadly.

Character is (C) to
Art is (C) to me.

This is a really awesome! I think adding a film grain would really solidify the effect. It's great the way it is, though. Love the eye shine.

I LOVE this! I don't think I've ever seen something like it before. It really makes me think that I'm watching some scene out of a nature documentary, which I absolutely adore. This really is a great way to create a night scene, especially when the subjects are animals in their natural environment. Excellent job.

but are there shadows of such night lights?... im not sure

TopazDragon19 In reply to NathalieNova [2011-10-04 18:15:49 +0000 UTC]

If there is any light source at all, like the moon or stars, there will be shadows. They are difficult to pick up with our relatively poor eyesight, but the night vision will show them as they are. Night vision technology does not emit any light itself, so it does not cast a shadow.

Here's a further explanation if you're interested. ^-^

Night vision, whether technological or biological, expands how much of the electromagnetic spectrum we can see with. This usually means utilizing infrared light, as well as any natural light source, and amplifying it.

Night vision, as it's used here, is using Near-infrared and Mid-infrared light, which picks up the light reflecting off of an object from an outside source(moon, stars, etc.). There is also Thermal-infrared, which uses the infrared light emitted by objects. The hotter an object, the more infrared light it emits, and the 'warmer' it's corresponding color will be on the display. This method does not require any outside light source and could be used in absolute darkness.

Night Vision, Super idea! I had never seen it on a drawing and it never would have even crossed my mind! I do not know if this is the documentary about hyenas I look at this moment or Naro's cold and intimidating look, but this scene really make me think of an attack by a hyena at the head of the pack!
This drawing is very expressive, you can feel the excitement and adrenaline that invaded the body of Naro, muscles tense just before pouncing on its prey!
And we can also imagine the rest of the story
What could I say? I would send you a note when I put some money aside because of my commissions!? XD
You would not do "loyalty cards" by chance?
Thank yew
