Description Psaltery-like plucked dulcimer.

Body oak + 4mm (quite thick, but that's as little as our planing machine goes and I was lazy) heat processed birch for soundboard and bottom. + linseed oil + tar

Bass strings bronze-wound premium Pyramid strings + some old nickel wound bass strings.
Unwound strings mostly by courtesy of some friendly piano repair shop in Jerusalem, can't remember the name of the place now, they let me take strings for free (ze tov, toda!)

That's about it... Standard zither tuning pins are bought, otherwise 100% hand crafted.

And it sounds just <3<3<3<3

Tuned to some D variant I think. Anyway so that I can play Stones on it over and over...

The pelt is vegetable tanned sheep...

Beautiful, really pretty Its an impressive craft to make an instrument, especially one as unusual as this. What made you decide to create one of these?

Hmm I think plucker dulcimers are not that unusual? Hmm I guess it was more like an accident... I happened to have that nice birch, and felt like doing a plucked dulcimer I have a ton of ideas in reserve, been reading a lot about instrument building lately...

I love the carving around the edges.

Yup, they are a particular favourite of mine too ha, it was refreshing to do something really freeform after the pedantic (but very very good) wood carving course we had. I think my teacher would lynch me if she saw the way I did those deep parts
