Well, just out of boredom, I made this. I figured I had the blue pleated skirt from my Azumanga summer uniform, so I figured I'd do something with that. Also, this was practice to double-check my new way of doing collars, before I write a tutorial about it!Chii really only wears this (as far as I know) in some artbook pictures, but it really does work with a lot of costumes, like Usagi's school uniform from Sailor Moon, so that is fun! I wish I had something more useful to say, but unfortunately, I don't right now ^___^

Actually Usagi and Ami from Sailor Moon have a more bow like front while this one would be more suited to Manoko's school uniform (Sailor Venus). Mokoto (Sailor Jupiter) has a different one all together. Isn't even blue.

I do make them custom for other people, and short sleeves would be cake. School Uniforms are $95+$5 shipping in the US
Now, one cool thing, if you'd like it in navy blue, and you're a M/L or smaller, I can do it cheaper, because I finally found somewhere to buy school uniform skirts, which is one less thing to have to make (I hate making them ~ they're tough to make if you want the pleats to stay in place!!)

Hey wow! ^_^ That looks great! Yeah, I can think of a lot of anime (ok, mebe not a LOT but still....a few...) that this uniform can fit under. ^_^ Can't really see much of the pleats but looks good 's far as can be seen. =] Great job with the collar and the kerchief thingy! Those two are separate ne? ^_^

Yeah, it's incredibly versatile, as just a generic school uniform! Pleated skirts are really hard to get good pictures of, unless you're like outside or something like that, but I wasn't going to try to haul my dressform (which is already broken >___<
Oh, and yes, the collar/top and scarf are separate, cuz I was too lazy to sew it on or something. It's *much* easier, and this way, if I wanna confuse people, I can take the front placket out (it's removable) and tie the scarf into a bow and be one of the Sailor Moon girls (the only difference being Sailor Moon uniforms have 2 rows of white, not one, but I doubt anyone is going to call me on that one...

It's not really that hard... just time consuming (and you mess up *a lot*!!) ~__^
I'll be writing a tutorial on school uniforms shortly, so hopefully that will help some people out, since everyone I talked to when I was trying to figure it out was *really* rude to me about how they did it. I hate people like that!!

Although, it just reaffirms my idea of karma ~ one girl, who did really nice outfits, was very, very nasty to me when I asked for help. She also does Full Metal Alchemist uniforms. I had someone who was looking for 5 of the uniforms, and I didn't refer them to her ^___^ Sounds mean, but you get what you give!! So she lost around $800 worth of commissions in that one alone... not to mention, I look for people to pawn off extra commissions that I can't handle on, so I guess it would pay to be nice to me, because I'm paying for advertising for myself, and I can't possibly fill all the inquiries I get on a regular basis...
I know it sounds like I have an ego, but I just had to rant a bit ^___^; Sorry to pile it on you

Aww...it's so kawaii!! I actually have a poster up in my room that has Chi in this dress. It's so cute cause she's walking with Hideki. It's insane...I have 3 chobits wallscrolls. But then again I have like 7 FF8 wallscrolls. ^_^; Hehe. I'm a little obsessed when it comes to final fantasy.

Ah!! Cool!! I'm not the only one who's seen pictures of this!! One question though - is it navy, or blue in your picture? Because I've seen both, but I can't tell if it is my monitor or not O___O
I luff Chobits so much... FF8 was so good too, if I had walls to put scrolls up on, I totally would... except our ceiling is on an angle, and the actual walls are really low, so there is no room for them (I have like 4 Eva scrolls laying in a corner...) ^___^

I'm staring at my wallscroll cause it's right infront of my bed...and the skirt is navy. I really like the outfit. It is too cute. Plus it's always nice to cosplay as Chi (or any character really) and not be stuck with a big elaborate costume. Kinda like casual wear.

It's not too hard ~ if I can be any help, just ask!! If you'd like, I can also tell you the pattern I use for the base, and send you a copy of the hand-drawn collar I used (it lays *so* much nicer than any pattern I've found yet!)
