Description Well, here is my latest "pet project" - Sakura's Angel dress from the second Card Captor Sakura movie. All that is missing is the wings, because the JoAnn's by me does not have those nice little magnetic snaps in stock, and havne't for months, and that was how I'm going to attach the wings, versus using pins which could damage the satin after a while *sigh*

The dress is made from high quality bridal satin, and the top is lined. No pattern what-so-ever was used making this costume - it was my first attempt to fully draft and drape a pattern from scratch, and I think it turned out really well for a first time! And, especially considering it wasnt a jacket - I've draped tons of jackets, but they get really easy after a while, especially compared to this. I even managed to get the front side seams to have a gather, and the side seams to not!

This dress is about a Medium - Bust: 34"/36", Waist 30"/32", Hips free. If anyone is interested in it, I'm going to be putting it for sale shortly - unfortunately, I think I took to long getting pictures to sell it for AnimeExpo, but I have it packed up and ready to ship in time if anyone really wants it. Email me ^___^;; Otherwise, it will be in my store shortly ((sorry for the shameless self plug, but re-doing my sewing room is costing much more than I had expected, so I'm trying to generate some revenues...))

You finished it! It's beautiful! The bridal satin looks absolutely wonderful with this costume, but I suppose you'd have to be careful wearing it. I wouldn't imagine making anything without a pattern just yet, but this turned out really fantastic.

Hehe, yes! I finally finished it ~ I wanted to do the wings, but still don't have the space for it ^__^

The satin isn't too bad, but it could stain pretty easily. Mostly, it's dealing with water spots on satin that I hate with a passion, because you really can't get rid of them.

Working without a pattern... well, it's not so bad, after you've made bases for pretty much everything under the sun. You start knowing where the seams need to be, and stuff. And, I did have my dressform, so it was a lot of pinning stuff on there, and seeing if it worked. And measuring. Fear the tapemeasure!!

Yay! You finished it and it looks pretty! I can't imagine doing a dress without a pattern. Basically, you're awesome.
Mmm... puffy... That would be fun to wear. I love puffy/flowy things.
