I finally got to make it!! Temari's 2nd outfit, from Naruto~I made this as a trial for a commission (to be sure I was right on how to do the armor), so there are some differences between this one and the final one for the customer - I embroidered button holes onto the armor where the lacing goes, so that they don't risk pulling through the fabric, but that is about it!
The armor doesn't lace on in the back - instead, it zips on in the side to get in and out - the lacing is just for adjustment fittings (like, if you need it a little looser, or a little tighter).
The top is out of cotton, the skirt is out of knit (lined), the armor is a vinyl fabric (not the fuzzy backed kind, though), and the sash is uber long (180" long).

This is really, really good; I'm planning on making my own Temari costume (having never made any sort of costume or clothing before!) so I can look at this and see what I've got to aim for

Well, unfortunately, most of the pattern was just hand drafted, but if you take a look in my gallery, I have a tutorial for the kimono top (you'll have to modify it as you go, but it's not too bad), and you can find patterns for the skirt, too, and the over part, you could probably even use a regular apron pattern for, or just play around with fabric until you get it!

Thank you! Well, I don't really have a pattern or anything for it, I'm sorry to say - I just kind of... drafted it
But, it's out of a heavier upholstry vinyl - you could probably hold it up to someone who is a similar size to you, and figure out the pattern for half of it, and then just mirror it on the other side

Well, it kind of depends on what I need, but generally, most of the fabrics come from JoAnn fabrics, because their coupons save so much money! Otherwise, they're from online, usually from DistincitveFabrics.com

yep it is accurate...it's just the show doesn't say much for fabric. that's why it's good to use other cosplay to make your own!

Just definitely be forewarned - some people make everything out of cotton or satin, so just be sure to look it over and see how everything looks before doing something off of someone else's piece XP
