Inspired by a recent artwork I saw of a snow leopard with its tail blown up to giant proportions. It looked like a squirrel, so why not make a snowleopard squirrel. The Himalayan squirrel, feared as an angry god of the mountains, said to eat children who disobey their parents.
Final proof to me that watercolors and I don't really get along. I hadn't used them for such a long time that I had forgotten everything I'd learned about them, and slowly everything my arts teacher had taught me years ago came back, but far too late. XD And I had no opaque white.
Heavy use of Polychromos was required to save this at least a bit.

Neither nor, but during the harsh winters it enables the squirrel to sneak up totally unnoticed on unsuspecting nuts.

Great use of negative space to draw the eye right to the snow leopard squirrel ("squirreleopard"? <--- hmmm, doesn't have much of a ring to it! Anyway...), despite the pastel, sombre colours used throughout. In fact, your creative use of white space would induce me to fav this even if it wasn't well-drawn or a cute concept, which it is. Cheers.

I call it "SchneehΓΆrnchen" (squirrel = EichhΓΆrnchen, snow leopard = Schneeleopard) when I refer to it, that flows nicely. xD And there is actually some shading on the snow in the orignal but so far I couldn't reproduce it, not by scanning and not even in a direct photocopy. But I'm glad to hear that it has some merit. ^^ Thank you very much for the comment! And I could have sworn I'd watch you, the name and style are so familiar. ^^ I'll just do that right now.

Cause I know Sciurus = squirrels and uncia = snow leopard.. and I had a total brain fart just seeing the name Sciurus uncia. XDDD Kudos to you for accomplishing this!
