I can't believe this one is finished. I have this really relaxed feeling, when you're accomplished something and you're to lazy to start something else. I probably will spend a few hours staring at no place at all and then start all over again with something new XDis the b est inspiration ever. When she's over here I manage to do things I'm usually to scared even trying. I'm not sure if she's doing anything special (she's not poisoning my coffee, I know that XD) I think it's her mere presence which is dripping of inspiration ^____^
So.. something about the picture:
Anima Species: Banded Palm Civet (They're so awesome *_*) I used references from a book...
Background: lil waterfalls taken from a calendar
Tools: Water colours and coloured pencils
Time Taken: Not sure... I spent weeks on it, but I was doing other stuff as well.
I'm happy of: The fur
I don't like: The water (as always)
State: Not for sale... I might be selling a few limited prints if anyone's interested

ah- yeah I'm not much of a reader...but I write...if that makes sense lol.
Very nice I was suspecting it was coloured pencils but it was so full of shading and colour it took me a minute

I'm.. some kind of self-learner. I have a very very good friend who's looking over almost every piece of art, correcting anatomy and mistakes which really helps me improve my artwork. For the coloring part I watch other artists and try to import tricks into my own stile of drawing ^^

No, it was a simple animal book ^_^ The charakter is my own invented race.. I just used a civet and made it a lil bit less animal like

Nice design! The background looks really soft and blobby in comparison to the creature, though - having some sharp contrasts in the bg would really bring out the softness of the fur pattern. Some more definite lights and shadows would make the figure more three-dimensional, too.

The conception is amazing, but there is something in the face that doesnt match with the rest of the draw. Maybe is to animal for the body, or for the scene. Just a coment, nothing else

It was a goal I tried to reach to make it as animal-like as possible and still giving it some human features ^^
