My last picture for the EF artshow is finished. Actually this sketch started somewhere around March and was supposed to be for MMC but I never managed to finish it.I tried out some new media and I'm quite happy with the result :3

I cannot say how happy I am every time you try out something new _and_ suceed in it. Not only you being happy with the result, but it also getting the attention it deserves. That's double plus good!
I really like how the few blotches of bright blue/ turqouise stand out next to the green-brown main colour palette. It is a nice way of directing the viewer's eye through the entire piece. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="
While the composition is well thought through and you are already grasping shadows, I think "light" aka highlights would be the next step. I think it would have been a neat addition to this piece to have those bright patches of light on her pelt that appear when light falls through the crown of a tree. But as I was present during the process of creation and well aware of the time pressure and all, I know why this kind of effect had to be left out. ^^

I know I still need to work on lightning and I think practicing the light effects comming from light through leaves is a thing I definitly want to practice ΓΆ.ΓΆ
I didn't do it here on purpose because of the spots on her. I was scared it might ruin the effect when I add light spots as well ^^,
But I hope I can try it out on some other picture even though I'm really scared of this XDD

That's a great critique, very well written. But the point with the light patches is always something that needs to be thought thoroughly especially in sceneries like this. Especially here, where you can see the sky as a big bright lightsource, it would be nearly impossible to add bright light patches of falling sunshine through leaves.
This image is heavy with details, so it's great there are only the black blocthes of the fur visible.
A very dark shading and workout in depth of field would allow such a lightfall otherwise it would really confuse the eye. :]

Na, seriously. It's important to me you don't think this was a "dann eben nicht!" reaction.
Of course it sucks if you want to give somebody helpful advice and you're being told it was wrong, but I rather accept that than worsen the piece in question.

I used colored pencils and water colors mixed with only very little water for the background.

All of the colors flow like a gentle river with the strong embrace of the hunter. Looking into her eyes she has a lot of cunning that will never allow anyone to defeat her in battle or hunt. She has perfect balance for graceful movement in her stance. The colors around her complements her eyes and her fierce beauty. Impressive to put such beautiful art on this amazing web site!!

I'm not sure what to say. It's very good. Love that background, and I LOVE that pose, very unique! My hat goes off to anyone who tries for complicated and hard poses like that.
