No prob, it's awesome. I've STed for players who did pretty much everything you listed wrong, I've been dragged into an unwanted rivalry plotline as a PC by another PC who "just did what their character would do", I like to make somewhat "disruptive" guest chars myself but only if I think it will bring a breath of fresh air into the group. Your advice on all of that is really valuable

Okay, since you are a WtA fan (and we know one another from a long time enough for me to be frank), some of this was inspired by every single goddamn arsehole who thinks it is perfectly OK to pick a Red Talon character in a more modern game and then spend 90% time throwing tantrums over other garou being 'too human.' Like, this cliath Talon who KNOWS those other tribes aren't like Talons starts acting like a five-year-old toddler in play because things don't work as THEY want them to. Alongside constant arguing with the sept elders how things are WRONG. Because that is fun in the long run 9_9

Then I found a LARP guide ENCOURAGING this behaviour and I wrote an angry dissection of it. Because those kind of characters are why Talons are banned in so many games.

EDIT: Because this was so bad. "A Red Talon will respect rank absolutely" (few paragraphs later) "A Red Talon will always test those who they feel are weaker." Meaning that a Red Talon respects only rank THEY approve and no else. Truly something a garou trained to Submit to Higher Station would think.

I made a Red Talon character whose whole point was that he was a chill Talon (from Chernobyl) who did not -like- cities, but was more concerned about teaching other tribes Talon culture and writing to throw a hissy fit about it.

XD oh no, that excerpt in the edit! I mean yeah, LARPs are boring if characters don't interact or clash enough, but eughh. Please not at any cost.

I've only ever had two Talon PCs in my groups and they were wonderful, luckily. It was other races that fell into that same pattern, though. And when the elders do something retaliatory, these characters only double down and cause a game that's been slowed down already to grind to a complete stop. ~_~

What really annoys me about those instructions, is that they put Talons down only as raging whiners. Especially the contradictive statement of 'Talons have absolute respect for rank' and then turn it around to being about who -they- approve as worthy of rank. Which goes against the whole point. The justification being 'Well, this is why there is no room for them in the modern world u_u' is even worse. Because it takes the responsibility off the player when they should be extra responsible when playing a Talon.

Plus, I just find the idea of a grown arse Red Talon throwing a tantrum hilarious.
