Description
"Self-conscious gryphon species - though most of gryphons are animals, there's six species total which have higher consciousness. Their lifestyle is natural like animals have, but are less or more magical and highly intelligent creatures. Gryphons themselves rank them over common self-conscious creatures though they appreciate intelligence. They have deep hatred against animal gryphons - in their words these critters are just waste of creation.Where they came from - that can't be explained with normal evolution. Is said that one day they just were there like they've always been, though they were not. Animal gryphons are product of evolution but these species were - maybe - just a random idea of Creator self."

Main designs are a bit unfinished and one half lacks colours but this is a little spoiler for MoA's six self-conscious gryphons. They have special features by species (beaks, anatomy, bodyshape, size, colour, race personality) but something is the same...like hatred against animal gryphons, big size when comparing to animal gryphs, proud nature...and weird skill against common biology: females can breed with any vertebrate creature and the descendant would be able to breed itself - but thank heavens they highly prefer racial purity (...and that was the main reason why every of these species finally perished).
Some info:
Hippogriff - Have thick fur, such heavy bodyshape, coarse wing feathers, males especially are boastful.
Lupogryph - Smallest of these, cunning and curious, roundish wing feathers, smooth semi-long fur.
Tygregryph - Heavy shaped, strong parrot-like beak, a bit quadrangled wing feathers, females are more aggressive than males.
Leogriff - Normal bodyshape, curly and long fur partially, really full of themselves.
Hellgriff - Light bodyshape, females and males have not outer differences, highest magical of these, horns curve front.
Dracogryph - Biggest of these, breathe fire, most friendly and calm (believe or not), live much longer than others.

These designs belong to me. But gryphons have been since ancient times. |x ... I think only hellgriffs were something new I made last December...

Well, the thing is that the gryphon is thousands of years old concept. Basically I see it as combining a bird and a mammal (or lizard, whatever, it is a bit expanded nowadays), and combining a bird with a wolf is an old thing too, definitely not my invention, so I would never complain to anybody for having a lupogryph (Latin based name, like the better known hippogryph).
So, you don't have any hindrance to create an own lupogryph species and thus a character. Only if you wanted to make something that looks excatly about like this: [link] ...then you needed ask permission from me (because that certain design is mine). But otherwise, have fun, and combine animals. Claiming copyrights to an old gryphon concept is no way clever, it's like claiming rights for dragons or hot water even.

I don't know who that person was (and I don't need to know) but she/he is talking idiotically if claiming to have copyrights to ANY gryphon - the ancient well-know mythical creature. Was she/he the one who was creating it? I don't think so. x> Gryphons are not copyrighted, just single designs are, so if anybody comes and claims a wolf gryphon as his/her creation, they are always wrong.
People know gryphons, so they can always get an idea that hey, let's combine a bird with something else than a lion. Even I could say that a lupogryph was my own idea because it came like that...but as well thousands of other people have got the same idea of combining different animals to be a gryphon, especially with a wolf. Original and not-so-original at the same time.

No problem. Believe or not, I have got one of those people too: claimed that she owned gryphon concept, or at least claimed me a thief because we both had a character with four legs, wings and a beak. Four legs, wings and a beak - those were all the similarities.
So, if you ever again get that kind of person claiming that s/he owns wolf gryphons as a concept, just hold your ground. (Just in dA only has like hundreds of artists who have a lupogryph/wolf-gryphon, so, a single person claiming to own them? I laugh at that claim. Loud.)

Geez I can't believe some people and I did get rid of the OC that was half wolf/half gryphon but I'm going to use them agian and if the person starts calling me a theif of her 'species' then I'm just going to show her all the Gryphon/Wolf OC's that have already been created way before hers

Se se se kulki ensin nimellä "tiikerivaris" mutta sitten joku alitajunta sysäsi sen griippikategoriaan. |p Kyllä sinne se vielä mahtui ja sitten oli tarpeeksi näitäkin koossa...kait. Loput griipit on sitten elukoita. Siis esmes ON olemassa eläinmallinen hippogryfikin mutta se on pahuksen luonnollinen ja sen näköinen millainen perushevoskotka jollain lailla on. Nää kaverit on olemassa vähän luonnonlakien vierestä, väritkin on sarjaa oudot...jollain tavalla...örrrr... *selifailure* ....
Tän siitä saa kun kirjoittaa uuvahtaneena mitään, paljon selitystä aiheesta ruoho on vihreää ja hauki on kala ja energiajuoma ja kahvi on tappavan tehokas yhdistelmä... |p

I really can't say anything yet. I'm still trying to define how it would relate to my self-image if I did make one. I want to be sure I'm comfortable with it before I would put it any place public (like here). It's something I'll have to work through on my own time.
