...aka sketchdump filled with FAYZA . Because she's awesome. These are all very current sketches since well most of my papers are in another country and so...So yea. Fayza, Fayza and a bit more Fayza with some little things. You're free to ask more, Fayza likes unfortunately tell everything about herself. B<

A bunch of pencil sketches. I tried to add some colour digitally (whatever I can do with a mouse on bare table). Could be better, I'm too used to traditional media.

I actually dreamed that Fayza and Zyreus were my neighbours after seing this before going to sleep. It was rather creepy, since Fayza was... well... being Fayza

actually, she doesn't seem very...agile; she can't run or fly very well. she looks more than crafty enough to make up for it though.

She's sort a semi-digitigrade: she uses often her full hand when walking on all four limbs, but uses only her distal and intermediate phalanges of her feet. So her standing is not very balanced.

Wellll, I wouldn't say she couldn't run at all. In fact even with those big wings i can picture her doing a steady gallop but of course, not very fast. And on the wing subject for that matter, to even fly at all, she would need a much deeper chest,(lots of upper body strength is needed for flying). I've been getting help from a group lately that pretty much only accepts the best. And i think you would find them helpful too.

She can't really move her wings, just glide. I know moving wings effectively needs some good muscle powers. x> She's not perfect at all, she even have some unnecessary extra muscles (on thighs for example). Have to think that galloping, though I don't see she would do that...she doesn't have to run, she can poison them who move too fast. |D

Well, main reason to not change her anatomy remarkably is that I like her too much the way as she is. |D (Buffed chest wouldn't fit her at all...)

Oh yeah, I know what you mean. I feel the same about my critters. I just want to make them look cool. But i don't mind trying to draw SOME critter anatomically correct, just for practice to make my artist skills better otherwise, I say screw it,she/he looks bad ass and thats all that matters.

FAYZA. WOOO. <3 This is a really neat sketchdump you've got here. It gives us a nice look at her design and cleared up some things), all while being fun. You're getting very good at pulling off facial expressions!
Aaaah but I love this gal. I think the reason why Fayza's so appealing is because she's DYNAMIC. I'm more into cartooning so I always notice this: a lot of scifi/fantasy-characters lack expressive designs. But Fayza just gushes visual personality! She's lean and jagged, has this uppity head crest that screams "look at me", and has those eyes which top it all off. A character's design is all about execution, and you've got it down here. ;D
A bit of a bio-critique: if Hellgriffs didn't keep to their strict diet, they would likely suffer malnutrition, not stomach failure. Unless their autonomic nervous system requires an intake of blood, or something like that. Ahaha.

ANYWAYS. I've got two questions! What's her voice like? I imagined her as being wicked and crooning, but the fact that she has no nasal passages now makes me hear her as... nasally. Like an evil Fran Drescher.

I think there's still many things to be told. It's hard to explain a character right how I see her for everybody else. |> But it's with everybody I guess.
Sometimes I feel I can't do as expressional as I wanted (guess who has strong self-critic today), I mean sometimes it would be nice to make those overdone = cartoonish expression, but then it gets stuck. Physique doesn't allow this, so can't use this. 
I'll remember that...I honestly don't have so much medical knowledge so gladly take some new things from everywhere. |D But well, the blood wasn't their only nutriment, and at least eating those heavy etc. things would have lead to stomach malfunction (that I meant...or what does your medical senses say does this make any sense. *paranoid looking around*)
That's pretty much correct description. Fran Drescher is not 100% correct -even with more evil tint- but somewhat close. Fayza has not that...rusty tone. Incredients...mainly from plant kingdom but many other random things too. She didn't hesitate to dig gall out of someone if she needed that (she also had about none disgust towards anything she saw or even touched...if she needed a random bone from rotten corpse the most likely she didn't like maggots or flies around [also, good that she liked to wash her hands afterwards]). She collected much by herself but forced the salkahi do that too. It was much just psychological, after a couple of good tricks the salkahi really believed Fayza could do much worse things than she really could, and thus helped her.

Yeeah we're all like that. If only there were an invention that could zap all our thoughts into movie format-- that would help we artists out a TON.
Aaah but don't be so hard on yourself! Your characters are expressive enough to get through emotion perfectly, and that's a rarity in fantasy. You mix expression and seriousness very well!
Thanks for answering my questions, too. That's really neat that Fayza sort of tricked some salkahi into doing her footwork and ingredient-fetching... hell, I'd imagine anybody in general would do what she commands. Nobody messes with a potionsmaster. Nobody! :U

That gave me an idea, though. I should try draw someone of my characters as cartoony and as realistic as I can, then with my normal style just for the fun. Yea, that I'll do!

I'd say other but hard to explain because there's no "y" in English as I spell it. Y like ü in German language and so. ... Maybe somewhat like fie-za(h) is closest alternative...
I got the idea for her fingers from my own fingers... x>
